I prefer, “don’t own a cat because they are useless animals.”

I thought the cat was important to drive away the evil little gnome that tries to steal baby’s breath?

With double sided tape, you don’t have to worry about side rails.

However, the best way to keep your cat out of the crib is to make sure the cat is not in the room when you leave it, then close the door and use a monitor to listen for your baby.
Ahh, but kitteh is too smart for that.

I’m the lion around my house. If I don’t want my Siamese (willful cat) to do something I let out a hiss and a warning growl that keeps her hiding for about for about a day and half. Cats are highly trainable. My 2 cents.

Dear Cathy: How do you train a cat to stay out of a crib? Shut the door to the baby's room and turn on the baby monitor.

I thought she was gonna say, “To keep a cat out of the crib, cut the cat’s legs off.”

1. A crib tent
2. Anyone who thinks cats are useless has never lived where there are rattle snakes.

and when none of that works, there’s always .22 caliber aversion therapy for the cat.

What I did was to buy a bifold door that was paneled (solid) on the bottom and had dowels that you could look through at the top and easily hear the baby. They couldn’t bump the door open or jump thru the top. We installed the door so it opened out into the hall so if the big cat pushed against it it wouldn’t open.
