Unless I am mistaken, it has always been a Constitutional requirement that a Presidential candidate be a natural born citizen. That is, the candidate must be born in the US of parents who are US citizens at the time of birth.
According to that definition, Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen and, therefore, has never been eligible for the Presidency.
How could he have been nominated by the Democratic Party, placed on ballots in all 50 states, certified by the Electoral College and sworn into office by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?
Did I miss some important event somewhere along the way to the 2009 inauguration? Are we not using the natural born definition anymore? If so, who decided that? Was the Constitution amended in secret?
Actually, none of that happened.
What I think did happen was that many people got caught up in the euphoria and glamor of electing the nations first African-American President. The left wing of the Democratic Party saw it as a possible way of achieving long-term power. The main stream media, which is a shill for the Democrat Party, put its full weight behind Obama. Finally, the Republican Party may have been intimidated into cowardice by political correctness, fear of press ridicule and their own love of power and privilege.

Cowardice is still treason. I will not rest until every member of Congress (past and present) who refused to touch this issue (and yeah I'm also including Karl Rove); every SCOTUS member and judicial activist judge who refused to hear cases and punted them down the road; and every single member of the Media who either covered for Obama or refused to report on the subject or investigate it need to be prosecuted for treason. When found guilty and convicted - fry em or hang em.
This is THE only way this nightmare will not occur again. These people have to be held accountable for their actions. Perhaps this is the real reason (fear of the consequences) the GOP has been intimidated. But it should not stop us for demanding justice. It is WE the people not THEY the people!
Take it east. Guy’s from Canada.
I’ve noticed a lot of pro Barry sites are posting copies of Barry’s bogus birth certificate, even though it has been proven a fraud. His devoted followers don’t care.
Nobody outside of a small handful of internet forums is even talking about this issue. Obama's eligibility has effectively been co-opted in the public eye by the birth certificate.

I couldnt have said it better myself Pardner.
re: This issue is not going away
And it won’t go away even when he’s no longer in office! I would think anything he did while in an office for which he was not qualified would be moot.
Can’t you just imagine the chaos that would follow it being proved he was never eligible to be on the ballot?
And what’s even more scary now is that the states are STILL having trouble passing laws to protect them from future usurpers!
We are living in some sort of warped universe.

I think he bought SCOTUS when he met with them early on. Then we had the oath redone in private likely with the ROP book.
A relevant criticism. If 0bama were over 256 years old.
Obviously you cannot. The writer is correct as you well know. It has always been a Constitutional requirement that a Presidential candidate be a natural born citizen. It was not added later. It just happens there was an exception made at the time of adoption but that doesn't mean the requirement wasn't always there.
INCREDIBLE, AS EVER.
Yep because his own birth circumstances were shaky at best if not qualified for NBC status.
"Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D. is a recently retired colonel with 29 years of service in the US Army Reserve. He is a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq."
You know, 0bama is older and grayer.
And we know nothing of his medical history, except that he smokes, did coke and drinks too much.
it has always been a Constitutional requirement ...No it hasn't ALWAYS been a requirement. People on our side are not allowed to be wrong. Obama does not have the same requirements as Thomas Jefferson had. He has more stringent requirements.

The Repubs didn’t press the issue because McCain’s eligibility was “murky” as well. They adopted a resolution to consider McCain a NBC because he was going to disqualified under a “technicality” in their view.
What if Obama’s birth certificate lists no father or “unknown”? In the case of an unwed mother (and we know his mother wasn’t legally married to Obama Sr. at the time because he had not yet obtained a divorce from his Kenyan wife), would one parent qualify him as a NBC IF he was in fact born in Hawaii? If Obama’s biological father was a British citizen, but they were NOT married, does that factor in? And... what does the later Indonesian adoption do to his citizenship? My understanding is this was a legal adoption. Indonesia doesn’t allow for dual citizenship, but we do.
It is amazing that there are SEVERAL scenarios that might disqualify him, and no one cared.
“Trump, as far as I can tell, hasn’t even mentioned the “two citizen parent” issue. Maybe it’s because four of his five children wouldn’t be eligible under such an interpretation.”
Maybe he does not know about it or maybe he is just sticking to what is clearly spelled out in the Constitution. The 2 native parent thing is still up for interpretation. I personally think its 2 native parents but its arguable. One of these days the Supremes are going to have to take it up and make a decsision.
I’m going to email Trump’s website about it.
Heh heh, yeah, something happened to Hillary's votes. LOL
And anyone who thinks Obama is worse than she would have been is a fool.
It's the difference between the sorcerer's apprentice and the sorcerer.
You don't look at the mess the apprentice made and say he's worse than the sorcerer.
Yes, there would be less mess if the sorcerer was in charge.
And you'd be dead, too - and America with you.
