A police officer in a small town stopped a motorist who was speeding down Main Street. "Officer," the man began, "I can explain."
"No explanation needed!" snapped the officer. "I'm going to let you cool your heels in jail until the chief gets back."
"But, officer, I have to tell you something," The man tried again.
"Just keep quiet! You're going to jail and I'm not interested in what you have to say!" the officer barked.
A few hours later the officer looked in on his prisoner and said, "Lucky for you that the chief is at his daughter's wedding. He'll be in a good mood when he gets back."
"Don't count on it," answered the fellow in the cell. "I'm the groom."

Great story. ...I don’t think I’ve ever run across a Lab I didn’t like. We had a couple of Lab/Lab-mix rescue/adoptee girls while our kids were growing up... They weren’t black though. ...Both were ‘blondes’.
I will never know why he chose to ‘be’ with us - every day. It was SO special and sweet.
So, you will know why your ‘name’ touches my heart every time I see it.
When I was in Puerto Rico for a friend’s wedding several years ago - something similar happened - a dog (that I called “Charcoal” - because of his color) adopted me, and even chewed through the screen to get into my condo, while I was out for the day. He was sitting on my bed, waiting for me, when I came ‘home’. He followed me all over the island for a week.
When the driver picked me up to take me to the airport, I looked out the back window - and there was Charcoal - looking.............(I cried and wept, knowing that I had to leave him).
I don’t dare go to the Humane Society - I could easily adopt them all and become what they call an ‘animal horder’!
................and I miss my Lindy..........so much!

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

In the early 1990s, author and speaker Patsy Clairmont boarded an airplane and sat next to a young man. She began a conversation with him and soon found out that he was a Marine who had been serving in Operation Desert Storm.
Throughout their conversation, he told her that he was on his way home where his family would greet him at the airport. To which Clairmont commented that he must have thought about returning home to his family many times while he was in the Middle East.
But the Marine replied, "Oh, no, ma'am. We were taught never to think of what might never be, but to be fully available right where we were."
This young man was content right where he was...despite his situation. Contentment is the full acceptance of yourself, your surroundings, your past, and your future.
As believers, we can be content because Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. giving us salvation and eternal life with Him. Knowing this should help us be perfectly satisfied with our current situations because
He is sufficient to meet all of our needs
(Philippians 4:19).
However, contentment is never easy to obtain! It is a learned trait. No matter your situation today, strive to rely on God in every situation and circumstance.
Realize that He is sufficient and has given you all that you need for this moment in time. As you begin to depend more on Him, you will learn to be content!
PRAYER:
Thank God for the situation He has placed you in at this point in your life and commit to rely on Him in each and every situation.

You must be a really good person. ...Dogs just seem to KNOW these things.
I wonder if I’m to go to bed, or am I supposed to get up? I think I’ll go consider this conundrum on my pillow ;^)
