Ever tried Googling your Free Republic handle? I just did, and boy, did I find some surprises.
Interestingly, lots of my comments over the years on FR have been picked up and re-posted by bloggers (in a complimentary fashion). I'm honored.
On the other hand, I've also been quoted at Daily KOS and other unsavory cess pits, as a prime example of neanderthal Rethuglican thinking. Sweet. I suppose I should take that as a compliment, too(?)
One uber-liberal blogger who goes by the name "Field Negro", quoted me completely out of context in order to paint a picture of a self-hating black man, cowed and groveling at the knees, among a seething lair of white racists (that'd by y'all Freepers). Sick stuff.
I've also discovered that folks'll stop by your online photo collections and re-post your pics in the strangest places.
Try it sometime. You might be surprised at what you find.
Apparently there is a rock(?) group that has taken my name.
and they think the hugh and series running gag is so hilarious?
I only came up with my posts here. That and videos for some Chinese band. (Man, they’re awful!)
I'll have to try that. I know that Rush used my tagline on his show about a year after I adopted it. He uses it every now and again. Probably lots of references to him connected to it.
Yes, but then there’s several Eclectic Eel’s on the interwebs, all with larger footprints than mine.
Hmmm, all I got was pig related products.
Way to go!

That's really interesting. Think about it...someone at the NY Times went to the effort to transcribe your letter into digital format. That's the only way you could have found reference to it on the internet.
when i google my real name, the first page is all people whom I’ve never met...:)
I sorta feel like John Smith...:)
Hey! I got KOSed too!
Me:
My boss has already said that if CommieCare passes he will fire all his employees and re-hire them as 1099 contractors. (Im already a 1099 so it doesnt effect me). — PhilosopherStone1000
KOS Kiddy:
“Let me get this straight. Your boss is going to screw his employees the exact same way he has already screwed you? Incidentally, the word is “affect,” with an “a.” Maybe if your third-grade teacher made you learn how to spell, you wouldnt be a contract employee who doesnt have health insurance.”
I guess they thought that was funny (the post was prefaced by some crap about the poster having once been a stand-up comic).
Maybe if he had read more, he would have realized that “effect-affect” can both be used in that particular syntactical arrangement. Oh well, there’s a reason they’re KOS kiddies.
I swear I was just cleaning it and it went off!
What! Said in total innocence (LOL!), as my handle is so unknown as to be little, thus not worth Googling. Just say’n
I made a parody post of a Menino (’Mumbles’ - mayor of Boston) sentence and one of the DU posters thought I needed a spell check:)

I didn’t think the letter was all that wonderful that it had to be archived.
Or maybe the NYT thought I was some kind of subversive and had to keep the letter as evidence. *Snort*

I think you might be on this too.
You're a braver soul than I. It creeps me out to think that they're even reading what I write, much less copying and pasting my words on their insane asylum walls.
I didn’t find myself quoted anywhere but on FR, but I did find a poster over at DU with a screenname similar to mine.
