I was jut rnning a few errands and ran into a store while my 81 year old mother waited in the car. Well, a big sedan pulled into te next slot and a guy got out and started poking all around and then rapped on her window and compained about damage to his car and insisted that it was caused by mine. My mom told him there wasno way that was possible and to go away but didn't mention calling the cops. (I would have) The guy took down my plates and left yelling about lawyers.
Does anybody know about anything like this going on in the fraud community and what should I do now? Again, I wasn't there when this happened and i'm getting the story from my mom who was sitting in the car.
I would call the police and report it to them.
Someone I work with had this happen to them, but they were inside when the supposed damage took place. When my co-worker came out to her car, the ‘fraudster’ started this stuff. She’s pretty young and didn’t know what to do. She held her ground when speaking with her insurance company and insisted on an investigation. The Insurance company did an investigation and it turned out ok.
You’re in Massachusetts? This is big business in the city of Lawrence. Go to the police in the town in which the incident happened and file a report just in case.
It’s a crime to leave the scene of an accident in most state, so if someone claims there was an accident, then anyone who leaves without reporting it could be in trouble, even if there was no accident. Definitely call the police and report no accident.

This was a typical Obama voter ACORN thug trying to shake down a frail old lady for a few fast bucks.
Ask the store if they have video of the parking lot. Report the incident to the police and have them look at the video.

Call the cops. It sounds like a scam. i.e. “you damagaed my car now give me money.” Something like that, People need to be on their toes especially if they see an older person. They will try to scam them. Be careful.
If there’s nothing to see then you might drive to the police and ask them to examine your car.
Destory all evidence. Burn the car.
Then you and Mother should join the witness protection program.
Maybe flee the country.
Or, I know somebody who knows somebocy that can make the problem “disappear”.

Seriesly. I had someone do this to me years ago. I denied it. I took my car to my insurance adjuster which proved I had no damage, so how did this idiot claim my car damaged hers?

Try to get their license plate too. This is a scam for sure. Call the cops.
That is EXACTLY what goes on in California, Mass, New York, New Jersey, Michigan and all the other FAILED States.
Call the cops immediately! I live in Broken’fornia and my family has been briefed on all of this and what to do. Any suspicious incident requires immediate gathering of evidence-—video recorders ON! license plate numbers, descriptions of subjects, etc etc etc.

If it makes you feel weird, there’s a good chance it is weird. Probably worth calling the police.
The scammer may try to report it as hit and run. They get caught when every victim reports to cops and insurance and the same scammers keep popping up.
Turn on the date stamp, if your camera has one, and take a bunch of pictures of your car. If you damaged his car, yours should have damage as well. File them with the police report others have suggested.

Did your mom get a good look at the suspect? Can she provide a detailed description to the police? Approx. age, height, weight, hair and eye color, etc?
