So does that mean the Steelers will give their SB ring to the Cardinals, since Zona would have won were it not for James Harrison’s Pick 6? :)

Turnovers are part of the game, and influences the entire progression of play. There’s no way of knowing what would have happened if the Green Bay D didn’t force those turnovers

Superior team yesterday sure. It’s that 7 out of 10 where you are clearly smoking crack. Or have you forgotten week 15 of last season. You aren’t going to get the Steelers coming out and playing so-so football 7 out of 10 games. And given some of their performances early in the year (especially that first Bears game) it’s pretty clear the Pack won’t play 7 out of 10 as well as they did yesterday either.

Last season doesn't mean squat. The rosters are quite different. ...as they'll be next year. Steeler fans are the most delusional bunch around, apparently. You're a close second to the guy who earlier in the thread wrote (paraphrased) "the Steelers won the game except for the scoring stats."

You’re lucky I got offline last night before the ‘maddow’ comment. I hope you’re in a better mood today.

Actually the rosters are very similar, neither team has had a lot of personnel turnover of late, except for injuries. The Steelers did own the stats. There’s nothing delusional here. Just pointing out that both teams are capable of different performances than what they put on yesterday. The Pack played one of their best games of the year, and certainly earned the win; and the Steelers played one of their worst games of the year and certainly earned the loss. But if they played 10 times it wouldn’t be like that. You wouldn’t see this version of either teams 7 out of 10 times, we DIDN’T see this version of either team 7 out of 10 times. If they Pack had played like that all season they would have gotten the #1 seed in the NFC, the the Steelers had played like that all season they wouldn’t have made the playoffs. You need to understand the difference between being the better team for 1 game and being the better team all the time. The Packers earned it yesterday, but over the haul I think the teams are pretty much even, that ain’t delusional, that’s having actually watched both teams a lot this season.

That you can say that with a straight face after watching them drop 7 big passes is amusing. Enjoy your tear-filled beer, Stu.

Outside of one receiver with a case of dropsies (which I’ve already noted) they played a nearly flawless game. Not only did they have no turn overs, they didn’t any near turn overs, one pass got tipped by a receiver, none got tipped by the defense, no fumbles, no near fumbles. And note the receiver that dropped those passes also made a few HUGE catches. Compare that performance to their MNF game against Chicago near the beginning of the year. Rodgers QB rating was 111.5 compared to his season average of 101.2, clearly one of his best games of the season. Clearly one of the Pack’s best games of the season.

It’s funny how quickly you’ve resorted to insults. For a guy with no dog in this hunt you sure do want to make it personal.

lol.. If you think “enjoy your tear-filled beer” was an insult, your skin is even thinner than the current WH resisdent’s. (And yes, THAT was an insult). Speaking of whom, he must not exactly be thrilled that one of his biggest supporters/donors (Rooney) lost yesterday.

It’s not just that one. You’ve turned all insults all the time, you’re trying to turn this into a flame war. And note that just because I see that you’re throwing insults doesn’t mean I’m in any way wounded. I don’t mind you throwing insults, it shows you know the facts don’t support you, it shows you can’t handle grown up discussion, and it just generally makes you look like a dink. Throw all the insults you want, it’s funny, but not in the good way.

They lost their star corner and a veteran receiver within two minutes of each other.

I knew when Woodson came out in a sling, that the Steelers had a chance. He was leading the defense on almost every play and the Pack D looked lost the first couple of minutes after he left. Luckily the offense overcame all of those dropped passes and saved the win.

It was not by any means the best the Pack have played. They beat down three good NFC teams during the playoffs in a row (Iggles, Falcons, and Bears) on the road, and then beat a highly confident Steeler team despite some bad injuries. They played their best ball against the Falcons, who had the best home record in the league.

They don't play the Super Bowl 10 times, they play it once, and the after both teams going through a grueling playoff schedule (especially the Pack), Green Bay was the better team.

Hey, if you’re going to act like a sore-losing, delusional, hypersensitive wuss on a public message board, expect to be called on it.

The Pack have great depth.

Let’s keep in mind who they beat to get here, and understand I am NOT talking down the Pack, the Eagles faded hard down the stretch, the Falcons stunk against teams over 500, and the Bears were never that good all season especially not against the Pack (that playoff game was the first offensive TD the Bears got against the Pack).

I think the Steelers were over confident, which played into the poor performance. But also injured. The o-line has been a cobbling of second and third stringers all season with the only consistency being at center, and then Pouncey got hurt against the Jets so there went that. Ben’s been nursing that busted foot since Thanksgiving. Troy has never really come back from that ankle injury he suffered in the regular season, you can tell because he only blitzed about 6 times in 3 post season games, simply not the Troy way. None of which is excuses, the Steelers earned their loss, just pointing out that while the Packers injuries get a lot of press they weren’t the only team playing hurt yesterday.

As I’ve said repeatedly, yesterday for sure no doubt the Packers were the better team, they played great almost the entire game and the Steelers didn’t play great pretty much at all. It’s the “they’d win 7 out of 10” that I’m calling BS on. I think if both teams were playing at their average for the season it would be close to even. Rodgers is a heck of a QB and would give the defense fits, but he’s beatable, and the Steelers D can beat him. Just not with yesterday’s performance.

If #87 had not dropped all those passes, it would not have been close.

And if Ben had reacted properly to pressure and Rashard kept the football it would not have been that close the other direction. Meanwhile in the game that actually happened, it was close.

What does Favre have to do with the price of eggs? He won 1 ring with the Packers though. That’s one more than most NFL quarterbacks. The Packers have 13 NFL championships 7 more than the Steelers. They’ve done it also in the smallest major league market in all of USA sports

Steeler fans sure are proud of weird things.

When you're the NFL branch of the Baraqqi regime, that's not unexpected.
