I request prayer last fall when my mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I have been with her and she has been under hospice care since..there have been so many ups and downs, but mostly downs.
She has had a lot of health problems over the years including this..seems so wrong for someone at such a young age. At times I have hoped that there would be a miracle. It is a miracle that she is still with us and it is a miracle that she is in good spirts. But it is taking so much from her and today she told me that this is her time to go and she will be at peace when it comes. I didn't want to hear that for sure. but her body is so miserable and often the comfort methods we are using are just to help one thing and then something else starts bothering her. pain. fatigue.. Her coughing spells are horrible the fluid keeps building up in her lungs. I have been so angry at God at times. either anger or fear. This disease is so evil and no I don't blame her smoking cigarettes because she doesnt blame them herself. She doesn't blame her smoking habit.. because as nurse she has seen this in non smokers. But please keep her in your prayers. and our family.

I lost my mom to an illness when I was in my 20s and I know it's hard.

Cancer is a dastardly disease, it does however give one time to say good-bye -— for now.
My mom died in Oct. No matter how old you or mom is the void is profound. Mom is mom.
Trust God & if for now you are mad at him, that is okay, He can take it. But do pray for guidance that His love will sustain you during the difficult days ahead.
You have my prayers for your pain. I pray she knows Christ, cause she will have a great time sharing stories with mom in heaven.

Dear Father in Heaven,
Surround this family as they are fighting the Darkness we know as “cancer.” We are grateful that you hear our prayers, especially in those times of our greatest need, even if we feel ourselves to be completely alone and forsaken. We know that you have not and will not ever forsake us.
Father, take care of this mother and her daughter during this time. Help draw them together and to find a greater faith in you during this process. Grant them and their family comfort. Lift them into the higher realms of knowledge of the Holy Spirit and your Healing flame of body and soul.
Overshadow the doctors, nurses, and health care professionals. Grant a miracle if your Great Law will allow it, for this precious mother to remain in her physical body. In any case, we petition you for your divine Will, and we praise you, for you are worthy to be praised. You have given us Life and it is at your word and command that we thrive. Thank you for your Son who has taught us that that thriving continues, by the Grace of you, our Father God, even when those we love might be taken from our sight.
We gather together in this community of prayer warriors and we agree together that we want your divine Will in all things. Let that which we call forth for this family be done for all who are in a similar situation of need.

I realized only after posting that I had stated in the prayer “mother and daughter.” I understand now that the Freeper requesting prayer is in fact a young man. My apologies for this case of projection and assuming facts not in evidence. Please read this as “mother and child” or “mother and son.”
I just read you post and all the good prayers and advises. You are blessed to have so many people praying for you and your mom. I lost my mom 21 years ago from cancer and I still missed her. Cancer is from hell. I went through this and I know how it feels. I too was mad a God because I prayed for a miracle and I didn’t have one. I took me a few months to mend with God. He knows what you are going through and there is no human word that can sooth your pain but God will.
Yes,it is very important to tell her that is alright for her to go to be with Jesus.
and that you will see her again when is your time.
Your prayer has already been answered.

Then take all the time you have and spend it with her going over memories. Use it wisely so you will always have it to lean back on in times of sadness. God bless your mother and if she is right about this being her time...then we ask God to take her swiftly and peacefully. You have the right but...don’t be angry with God over this. Just ask Him to welcome your mother “home” and to give comfort to you and yours. You WILL meet again one day...you MUST believe that. I surely do. God bless everyone involved.
Amazingly enough my Mom still smokes. She took it up in the 1950s back when it was the thing to do. She is close to 80 now. My dad died many years ago 9 years after giving up smoking.
