Ok, I am from NJ. Between the high taxes, strict gun laws and crazy liberals I am seriously thinking about moving... have been thinking this for quite some time. Right now I have three children and have to pay for private schooling for all three because the public school's agenda's here are disingenuous and horrible. I want to make sure I do not go from the frying pan into the fire. I have a few choices for job transfers to NC, TX and OH. I need to be in a good area as I have a Neurological disorder and need an area with good doctors. However, I want to look at a state that will not give into any FEDERAL PRESSURE regardless (Are there any states left?). Looking for good infrastructure, few unions, decent schools (or good private schools), friendly gun laws and good hospitals. I guess what I am looking for is a a state that will stick to Constitutional principals regardless of what happens.
TN. They don’t have income taxes.
Franklin County, VA is worth a look.
Texas is too hot, I’d say Ohio. Seems like a nice place to me.
Texas! Montana is full! :)
Gunner
From chaos to confusion.
I’ll stick with Florida, but if that peters out then we scramble for Texas.
We lived in New Mexico for four years, then when Gary Johnson couldn’t run for another term we scooted.
California !! weather is great !!
TX probably comes closest to what you’re asking. However, you will be looked upon as a Yankee, which can get very annoying and make it hard to make true friends (people are nice to your face), so be prepared.
Oh, wait...
I already did move there.
A long time ago.
Leaving NY for TX or FL.
Don’t worry, I won’t bring any of my liberal relatives with me.
I believe the larger metropolitan areas of Texas have their issues too. Parts of Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth aren’t known for fine public schools. Sure, there are great areas of those cities too, don’t get me wrong. Just sayin...
No doubt that Texas has favorable gun laws. But I think NC does as well (the other State you mention).
If you are only focusing on those three, Texas probably is your best bet.
But their football team still sucks.
I still like Colorado. Just wish we could repel the invaders.
I’ve lived in all three states. Of those, I’d chose Texas.
I told my lefty family in NY, Kiss My Arse, I’m going to Texas!!!
Been here 8 years, never looked back..
Texas. I’ve always lived here, but my son traveled the world while in the marines, has lived in New York state, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvana. He finally returned to Texas last month and couldn’t be happier. He’s been trying for 4 years. Welcome to Texas!
A state of grace.
Queensland
California in the late 1940's.
Georgia is nice now, in 2011.
I'm thinking another country as soon as America unwinds.
Arizona (and not just because of the immigration legislation), Missouri, or Colorado.
I was in Mass., came to Virginia. Now considering Florida and Texas.
