Maybe he's trying to enlarge his fan base.

Sy-phalus and ga-noriah!
Fans of “American Idol” had some news straight from Nigel Lythgoe this morning. The episode set to air on Fox Channel 10 in Tempe on Wednesday will be cut from its planned two hours of performances down to one hour.
Nigel Lythgoe took to his Twitter early Tuesday morning to warn fans of the change. According to MJ’s Big Blog, he said the following:
“Because of all the Drama in the #AmericanIdol green mile show we have been asked to cut the Beatles Vegas Challenge to 1 hour instead of 2!! #AmericanIdol on Wednesday is a 1 hour Beatle Challenge and then 1 hour of choosing the top 20 up until JLo breaks down and cant continue!”
What was all the drama? Viewers will have to tune in to find out. This week, the remaining contestants will perform songs from the Beatles catalog. That will be the first hour of the night. The second hour will focus on the judge’s deliberation before the judges make the cut to the final 24.

I’m not exactly sure what this means. Maybe tomorrow night will be more from Vegas and then more top 24, which would explain why we didn’t see Jacee tonight.
Today on Maury, I saw “Chawnquela.” One of the better ones I can remember.
Or, as one high school girl in “Coach Carter” said, “Why don’t you just name her ‘Food Stamps’?”
Tourette’s Guy on ‘Idol’: I Wrote Songs About ‘Whores’
It was all part of an interview he gave with his band “The Hollywood Scars” — they were competing in a local battle of the bands in Santa Cruz last April ... and during the interview, Durbin says his favorite things to write songs about are “having sex with women ... whores ... [and] having a good time.”
It’s pretty ironic considering how Durbin was portrayed on his “Idol” episode — as a kind, genuine 21-year-old father of a new baby ... who suffers from Tourette’s ... and can barely make ends meet.
What’s wrong with him?
Hey S/J — I have been super buy, even tonight.
It is always great to watch the show with my closest friends.
Thanks as always for being the Host with the Most! :)
Yeah, I think cutting Chris was a mistake too. Unless it was all a ploy for some wildcard thing they have planned.
Diana Rosss mini-me
LOL! I agree with you on her too.
I agree. But (and I don’t have any inside information or anything) I have a feeling this isn’t the last time we’ll see Chris on Idol this year.
I'm just glad they didn't show the honeymoon :)
Ah-hah!
Oh I am sure it's available on internet somewhere.
I can't wait.
Just watched the tape. One thing doesn’t make sense to me. The first hour was excellent, really enjoyed the singing..but the second hour, where they start the cut from 40-24..they showed just about ZERO singing..so why is this?..unless they want to keep the vocal chords of the 24 under wraps..
I thought this guy was a phony from the get-go.
Hope he gets eliminated early on.
Post-it note to James: “You’re going home!”
On the floor with a pitbull?
He’ll rip her lips off.
Worth watching!
Yeah, so far he seems to be a one trick pony. Scream and then scream higher and longer.
Having that scarf hanging behind him like a tail reminds me of Nugent. And this guy ain’t no Nugent.
Crud. Is screamtasia coming back?
