In the good news for some and not others, the Yankees now have Tampa Bay's Rafael Soriano on their roster.
Ex Syracuse University coach Paul Pasqualoni has been named head coach of the University of Connecticut football team.
In politics, Reince Priebus elected new RNC chairman, replacing Michael Steele.
Heard from one of my friends at church...she and her husband have reached the difficult decision to move into an assisted living place... So much stuff to go thru in their home of almost 50 years. Their one son who's capable of helping them lives far, far away, and he's dealing with difficulties in his small business .
Prayers for your bandmate.
J=E=T=S.
Not sure if I should be cheering for them but I’m gonna put my toe in the water and see what happens.
LOL.
For example...one list was of sailing accounts...1 of these from over 100 years ago.
Then there are several histories of Alexander the Great...
there are still more I can't remember, but the sailing books got my attention right away.
Forgot to mention: I’m reading Simon Winchester’s new book on the Atlantic Ocean.
Go Jets!Great game. Great defense. Can’t anyone do an onside kick?
LOL I won’t ask what an onside kick is.
I am a huge baseball fan, love the sport period.
I am just now trying to learn/understand Football...I have sat through 3 games so far this weekend.
Maybe by this time next year I’ll have it all figured out.
LOL. I have had to learn to enjoy football after 35 years of marriage and only one TV throughout.
I do believe I saw a very well executed onside kick this year. I can’t remember which game it was, but it was one of the ones we won.
Auburn was pretty awesome!
No, I don’t see the book titles at WSJ. Any particular section to look in?
Thanks for all the kind words and concern about our bandmate.
It would be an honor to meet you both. Perhaps someday!
Thank you, off to check it out...!
I am reading (still!) Ron Chernow’s “Washington: A Life”, which is on the list. It is very well written, but also quite lengthy. I sometimes think I’ll never finish it. After months, admittedly reading primarily before bed, I’m not even half way thru!
But it’s very interesting, so I keep plugging away at it.
>>This surprised me...will have to read the article for further details, tho.
Have you seen John Stossel’s show last week on Canada?
The Canadians faced with a similar problem, successfully made major spending cuts rather than listenting to the liberal’s blather. I still can’t believe it.
And nobody is starving. no one is homeless.....
>>Did y’all see the weekend WSJ
You mean the print version or on the tube? (I admit to never having watched the TV show. If it is on MSNBC—I don’t even have that on my available channels list.
