The news & commentary continue to track yesterday's murders in Arizona. For some of the participants, it's not their finest hour, it's safe to say.
Meanwhile a strong, winter weather system moves across the Southern U.S. bringing snow and ice to places and people unaccustomed to such things.
Hope our ATRWers are safe and can keep their power. Folks are urged to stay home and not venture out.
Where was the ceremony today? Was it at the cathedral?
I loved that episode with the Gone With the Wind parody!

I think you are correct. And FoxNews scurrying to give him praise for that 34 minute (28 minutes minus applause and cheers) campaign speech during that spectacle is nauseating. I won't listen to any more of it.
I’m glad you mentioned Fox. It was in the back of my mind the lovefest they had after Black Tuesday (when Caligula was elected) and I didn’t even risk them. I’ll continue to stay away. Thanks for the warning.
Yes, it sounds like the Repeal is back on the schedule. We should not be cowed into silence and submission.
Thinking about comedy...I'm remembering "Frank's Place" about the people who gathered in and around a bar/restaurant in N.O. It was great, and capitalized very effectively on that city's "quaint" characters and customs....and at the same time made them all very appealing and human.
I think we'll have a Frank's Place marathon soon if I can find the tapes we made long ago..
Molly, I worry about our republicans. Most of the “old timers” like boehner have been “taught” by the demoflops to behave in the silent way and not make waves the demflops might not like, hence, the putting off of the repealing of the health care bill. Hells bells, we’re the majority now, so why not take advantage of it and put the health care bill in the sewer where it belongs???? Vote against it, DO NOT fund it, let will die.
Did you get to see the game? Did you go to Toomer’s Corner? We had a great time in Phoenix. I think everyone was ready to get that game played and over. We were all just emotionally exhausted by the time the game even started. It was great fun. War Eagle! National Champions!

I know you have a GREAT time. We did get to see the game. The power and cable stayed on and so there was no trouble here with that ice storm. I left immediately after the ball went through the uprights and celebrated for about an hour at Toomers with several thousands of my best friends. I bet it was the trip of a lifetime! I am still basking in the wonderful glory.
Are you coming here on the 22nd for the celebration at Jordan-Hare? My daughter and I are skipping the Wal Mart display. We think it is the tackiest thing ever. At least Bama had to do that first. LOL!
It was announced last night Cam is going pro. I understand that but I hope he finishes his degree somewhere. In the long run, he’ll be better off with one.
I suppose Cam cannot take the chance that he could be injured if he played another year for AU......... Financial security and all.....Hopefully, some day he’ll finish his education. I pray that he spends his money wisely and prayerfully.

I was looking on Consumer Report for my old car’s ratings and it got an 82 out of 100.....But I saw there was one car that got in the 90’s but it didn’t say which one.....after a lot of trial and error- I found it was the Genesis. Then I saw it got car of the year and beat out a Lexus and a Buick in a head-to-head competition.
Last week I had never even heard of it and now I’m driving one. !!!

That is essentially what hubby said. And by going pro he gets all the haters off his ba -—, well maybe not. But, it does make things easier in that regard. He won’t be under the microscope like he is now.
Bo Jackson left AU w/o graduating but went back at a later date and got his degree. That’s my concern. No matter how good a ball player you are, your stuck in a fallable and decaying body. You won’t be playing forever.

I'm continuing to keep the AZ situation and victims in my prayers, but am officially ending my week-long funk over the reaction to it.
