'Tis Thanksgiving Week!
And given that, we'll be hearing lots more stories about the new TSA passenger searches and screenings.
Renewed bailout and financial worries grip Europe,
and back home 0 seems determined to get the START treaty thru the lameduck session of Congress.
Thank you. He is happy. I aim to please.
I continue to smile.
Happy Birthday!
Cute.
Thank you. Having a great day. Had a big fire out back that is still going and used up all my carbon credits. I don’t care, I like fire.
Thank You, Almost time to cut the cake.
Hi, just got home a while ago ... buzzed from the trip ... I’ve got a month to get myself adjusted and then back .... WOW! Is it ever cold here ... dad’s got the furnace cranked up for me and I’ve a sweater or two on .... it’s 24F and dropping .... YIKES!!!!
I’m glad you’re home safely. Did you fly through Guam? How long did it take you? I once timed my trip to that area and it took 50 hours from the time I left my driveway until the plane touched down at my final stop.
I hate traveling.
Hi~ ... plane went from Brisbane straight to LAX then caught a plane to SEATAC ... 13 hours in the air (10 from Bris. to LAX) ... but glad to be home ...
Only 13 hours? That’s just one leg of my horrible trips. Yuck! What happened going through security?
OK! I’m confused. Do you work in Oz and are visiting the home folks for Thanksgiving? Do you live in the US and were vacationing in Oz?
I’ve been reading your homepage. Do you fly for a profession? I didn’t mean to diss your enjoyment. Flying coach for 50 hours is like being ... I really can’t compare it. Anyway, my apologies.
Security screening went well ... no problems ... pretty much like USA ... if you buzz you’ll be asked to step aside for a closer scrutiny but all in all it was ok .... I just had a rollaway suitcase that fit the stowbin and airline security folks took a peek at it and my laptop and purse ....
I don't see anything about 'roos! IMO, they're just huge rats that jump. Also, I gotta take exception about dingos. Yes, the wild dingos did that, but my two dingos were wonderful and I don't think I've had any better companions. The "NOTHING" is hilarious.
Yes, I work in Oz and am home for the Thanksgiving/Hanukkah/New Years day holidays and back to Oz right after. I live just outside Seattle and am a professional pilot. No wurries on the apologies ... :)
When I get back to Papua, I’ll have to come down and visit or you can fly over. I love those fruit bats you had. those are the size that eat my mangoes. They’re edible but they don’t taste very good.
There’s a couple of tame dingo’s that hang around the airport ... keeps the rats and smaller critters away ....
Sounds like fun ... I’ve met some people on FR who’ve stopped by ... will have to see distance and stuff for PNG .... or if you’re in the neighborhood ....
I bet those dingos did keep the small stuff out. Mine would attack every intruder that sucked oxygen. We have death adders and a type of monitor lizards. They all died quickly. They also kept out bad guys. One time I arrived home on my motorcycle just as a group of locals were going by. It wasn’t a nice gang, not really outlaws but not trustworthy either. Anyway, as I stopped to open the gate, I was accosted by one demanding money. He started to follow me in. I yelled for my gardeners to turn the dogs lose. The bad guy didn’t stay.
I live on the Papua side of New Guinea in Sentani. If you look for airport DJJ, I live about 1.5 kilometers away. I know, trips through don’t often happen. Just keep it in mind if you’re in the neighborhood. I hope to go back at any time in the new year. I’m here in the states due to the economy. Long story.
Will look at maps later after I get back settled in ... just before leaving a dingo nailed a king brown snake ... The king brown snake is probably one of Australia’s most well known venomous snakes. It is also commonly referred to by many as the mulga snake ... nasty piece of work .... no warning they’ll strike ‘cept that their hood comes out ....
