Interesting narrative by a captain and two lieutenants who were there. Gives insight to a murky and little known campaign. And there are pictures.

Yeah, the Allied Intervention in Russia is one of the great “might-have-beens” of the post-World War I period. The White Movement under Kolchak had a very good chance of defeating the Bolsheviks. But the French, British, and Americans pulled the rug out from under the Whites in 1919 and left them to their fate, with a complete Bolshevik victory.
Thanks. Much of that reads much like the book. Not a surprise as Lieutenant Mead is a source for both.
