Actually there are two mythbuster theories. One is that the “cell phone” is a hearing aid, available at the time. The other is that it’s fake because of an anomaly near the end of the clip.
:-( I thought the more fanciful theories were a lot more fun. Oh well.

I´d bet she gets better cell service than mine.

If, and that of course is a huge if, there were such a thing as time travels or others who were advanced beyond what we know about the times that wanted to stay in contact with each other who is to say that they didn't also have in place whatever it took to communicate with each other. Also, maybe they were in some kind of warp that overlapped each other so that the satellite rays entered through. The idea of a time traveler is so remote that if the tech existed we may not understand what else may exist with it. We don't actually know nearly all that we think we do.

"...that ain't a woman, that ain't a woman's hand, that's a man dressed up as a woman and he is definitely talking on a device of some sort." I concur. And assuming it's not a hoax, I wonder if it's possibly a unique on-set innovation using the available tech of the day to set up a communication device enabling a possible stunt. "His" coat looks very boxy, as if there's hidden wires/equipment underneath. Maybe they fashioned some kind of a walkie-talkie with radio waves...or it's camera equip., idk.
To: Hot Tabasco
Well, if it’s doctored, that was well planned. It’s doctored on all of those Chaplin DVDs.

When she was a younger teenager my sister once experienced what seemed to her to what could have been time travel. She had an experience that felt to her to be extremely real when she found herself back in the early 1900’s. She chatted with some people asking them what they could tell her about the time period she found herself in. They told her about the San Fransisco earthquake that had just happened. She told them that she was from the future and among other things about the two world wars and Nixon becoming President. When she told me about it I could tell she was very serious about it and believed what she told me and did experience something that she could not explain. To this day I would not be surprised to find out that something has turned up that is dated to the early 1900’s such as a time capsule with predictions in it about the future including the world wars and the election of President Nixon. At the time neither of us were aware of early 1900th century history concerning an earthquake and had to look it up to find out if it actually happened.

If one can time travel, they walk among us. The question is where have they parked their time machine? Just look for this:
