I was defriended on Facebook today. Reason given was that my republishing of negative Obama articles was causing this person extreme duress.
A former acquaintance of mine during my Navy days befriended me on facebook. Being extremely liberal, he would make snotty comments about my and a mutual friend’s conservative comments. When I engaged him privately and destroyed every one of his stupid arguments (like Republicans want to pay no taxes at all and dissolve the government), he couldn’t take it and de-friended me. I still send him messages on FB but he ignores them.
Oh, turns out he lied about being a homosexual when he enlisted and at least twice on his re-enlistments (they still asked when he enlisted). He was busted for drug usage once and claimed to dislike the military but stayed in because of the guaranteed government paycheck.
I don’t miss him and never did like him much because he was pretty much an insufferable ass.
Re: your tag line...I once told a peacenik his mind was so open his brain done fell out.
A friend of my wife’s defriended me a little while back. I wouldn’t have known since I have that person ignored since they play way too many of those games which I can’t stand.
She told my wife who told me that she couldn’t handle the conservative likes and what few anti-0 and lib comments I would post. This person tends to whine a lot over stupid and trivial things.
But if you end up like this, don't say we didn't warn you.
Welcome to the future. Get used to not "belonging," if that bothers you.
And see the movie "Brazil."
I was defriended on Facebook today. Reason given was that my republishing of negative Obama articles was causing this person extreme duress.I've defriended one person (someone I didn't know in real life) at least once due to their idiotic politics, and it's likely that I'll be dumping at least one more (that one is someone I actually used to work with, who *used to* have a sense of humor, now it appears she could co-host the View).
woops I had something left over in my clipboard from another thread.
LOL... he probably has a ‘borderless’ brain...
When I see a bunch of liberal crap from my friends, I hide their comments. If I want to go back and talk to them, I do, but I don’t need to see their ‘Support Obama’ BS every time I get my news.
I’ve re-met a few people from high school and college. Folks change (in my case), or they never do (in many of their cases), and I’m not going to defriend someone who isn’t conservative; they’ve been living their lives and I’ve been living mine and they are free to defriend me or hide my comments. That said, I don’t need to see every mindless liberal utterance that they make.
Back in ‘08, my brother and a cousin were getting on each other’s nerves as the election approached, so they agreed not to talk/email/whatever until the elections were well over. I think it took till Thanksgiving for them to communicate again. People just get too emotional and irrational about their politics. (present company included)
I am totally like, not worried?
I don't have any "friends" with IQs under 70.
That would just about cover all Obama supporters, and their stupid "feelings.".
What I liked about facebook is that I found out that most of my friends from high school are conservatives. I have lost touch with many of them. My class had over 900 in it and I poked around with friends of friends pages and brought true hope for me. Not the fake stuff.’
Fox had a story about Facebook providing information about members to outside marketing. Apparently they were gleaning personal information from anyone playing those silly games. I never did play any, but any number of people I had as “friends” did. I never understood the fascination, and it was one of the reasons I quit. Silly, silly, silly.
Facebook is a total waste of time. I joined only to stay in contact with old friends. Never ever read anyone’s posts, which seem to me to tend towards things like “My dog took a poop in my front yard this morning! Yea!!!”.
As far as I can tell facebook posts are nothing but a bunch of narcissistic drivel. And don’t get me started on the morons that spend their life playing “Farmville”, “Dipshitville”, etc.
I was stunned to find out how much time so many of my idiot relatives were wasting on facebook. I guess facebook is fine for those who have no real life in the first place. My idiot relatives included.
Re: “What in blazes are you people doing with liberal friends in the first damn place? There are more than enough conservative people out there that you dont have to waste your time with the stupid ones. And that goes for moronic family members too.”

You don’t say where you live, but I’m in So Cal, L.A. area — and I can’t move to a red state either.
There is no way to avoid lib relatives, ‘friends,’ neighbors, etc. They surround me — in my entire area there are perhaps five conservatives and three of those are 80+ and deaf. What does one do besides join tea party groups and drive umpteen miles just to have ‘friends.’
I cannot believe how divided this country is and if I could, I would move to the most conservative county I could find.

That’s funny, and it has been one of my Facebook ‘quotations’ for some time now.
“I feel your pain”
Boy, Klintoon was ahead of his time...in porn...
Lobs are everywhere. I think conservatives are just too busy working to flap their lips about injustice and redistribution schemes.
I have de-friended liberals. I post anti-Obama articles and they don’t want to discuss, they throw out personal attacks. This Billy-Bob doesn’t take that thar too good. ;-)
He's really cute, he asks me before he "friends" a girl we don't both know. Besides, I've met her. Nothing to worry about.
