"Any top ten list is bound to be subjective, but this one has criteria: to make this list, a show must have longevity (Sports Night was great, but didnt last), staying power (Threes Company was funny, but hopelessly dated), strong writing (hopefully self-explanatory) and memorable moments (theres a good reason that the final episode of M.A.S.H. was until very recently the most watched show in television history). Here are my choices, and let the debate begin."
TOPICS: TV/Movies

WKRP in Cincinnati (As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!) The best TV line of all time. And a close second was Les Nessman staring at the sky, "Oh the humanity of it all"

Wow..what a left wing slant on this.
My top 10 in no certain order would include... House, X Files, Southpark, Seinfeld, Bonanza, Frasier, Breaking Bad, Gunsmoke, I Love Lucy, and Beverly Hillbilies.

Yes. Lincoln was walking on a road, and IIRC, and old woman walked with him as he passed by her home, as she had died too?

I would put “Homicide: Life on the Streets” above “West Wing” any day of the week. Also “Hill Street Blues” or early “ER” or the first couple of years of “The X Files” or any one of a dozen other shows that were much better than “The West Wing”.

Ah, yes, Family Ties was one I used to watch. I also liked Growing Pains and 7th Heaven (until they shifted left)

LOL! You got to give "Little Joe" credit though, he did have the fast gun, and deadly accurate! Once you got on "little Joe's" bad side, your days were pretty much numbered.

Yikes. Buffy???? Yeah allow at least one show literate enough to reference Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, and Arthur Miller in the jokes without assuming the audience needs background explanation

Saw that just a few weeks ago, in the Syfy marathon. Confederate soldier stops at the home of an embittered widowed southern lady.Turns out the confederate sergeant is dead. Then the union soldier that shot him shows up (also dead, of course)....then her deceased husband...then Abe Lincoln, the "last casualty of the civil war".
My favorite episode is the one where the old hillbilly refuses to go into heaven when it turns out they won't let his beloved, faithful hound accompany him. He prefers hell or being earthbound to abandoning his dog. No points for guessing the twist.

I loved Mary Tyler Moore show, Bob Newhart (the first one), I Love Lucy, Leave It to Beaver, Family Ties, and Carol Burnett Show. Oh, and Perry Mason. I know, these are pretty old, but that’s what I like.

Any Top Ten TV show list that does not have the Carol Burnett Show listed as one of the Top Three (let alone not on the list at all) is immediately invalidated.
