The Chevy Volt has been hailed as General Motors' electric savior. Now, as GM officially rolls out the Volt this week for public consumption, we're told the much-touted fuel economy was misstated and GM "lied" about the car being all-electric.

Brilliant idea !
It won’t “belch” diesel exhaust though.
It will have to be EPA 2010 compliant with 10 grand of add on emissions equipment.
So, more expensive but well worth it for the taxpayers, LOL

IMHO, there’s going to be hell to pay when these things start getting into accidents and first responders have to start dealing with the high voltage as well as the environmental issues that result.

I’ve never seen a bigger bunch of technical ignoramuses as appear on automotive threads.

Ive never seen a bigger bunch of technical ignoramuses as appear on automotive threads. Well, you're first in on this one, and haven't done anything to dispell that impression, lol.
To: RegulatorCountry
Oh, please. You probably drive a know-it-all vehicle like a VW, Saab, or worse, a Subaru. Green pretenders. Go make some noise about global warning.
To: naturalized
At least you’re intelligent enough to find a posting history, so it’s a start.
Please, continue. FR sorely needs more brilliant commentary such as yours on our automotive threads.

FrankR, FrankR, FrankR...I detect a note of sarcasm in your post.
Obviously you have some doubts regarding GM's veracity.
If such is the case, then I have but 3 words for you.
You Da MAN!

My father lost his job with GM...as they got taken over by the Feds.
He was non-union....he worked in the GM Tech Center.
What's left of GM is going to He#! in a hand basket.
