Good evening.
The NON-Recovery Fall is here, and leading into election day, it's expected that higher unemployment figures will not help the Dems.
Related to that, in a shocker, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has endorsed John Kasich for Governor over the incumbent Dem, Strickland. This is a "Did I read that right?" moment: a huge plus for Kasich.
I guess even a Lib paper in the most liberal part of the state can't hide from the truth.
Morning lady. Got my walk finished. In the 20’s last night. It is only in the 40’s now but I have opened all the windows anyway. I had a a sudden yearning for fresh air. Maybe it was reading all the news this morning :) Got my walk out of the way and now another cup of coffee, breakfast and some time outside. Have a good morning.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
Saw some good news yesterday and today about generic polls: They are reporting that the GOP has a 10% lead over the generic Dem. In ‘94, the GOP generic had a 6.7% lead and they won 52 seats, soooo......;-))
Good morning. Just got back for buying dog food. Out of stupidity I bought a different brand last time. (IAMS) The pups were not pleased. I have gone back to Purina One. At least they won’t turn their backs on a bowl of food.
Falcon Lake isn't far from us. I can't understand why in the world they didn't obey the buoy warnings and stay on the US side, except they were supposedly taking pictures of the now submerged Old Guerrero mission.
Plus, they had been living in Reynosa previously to this....and Reynosa is a rough town. Some missionaries I know were doing prison ministry there and have mostly had to stop because of the danger over there.
Anyway, I wonder if having just lived in Mexico sort of desensitized this young couple as to the dangers. Mr. Prairie also wonders if seeing them taking pictures of the old mission prompted the cartel's attack on them.
She's lucky to be alive herself.
Bope, I am to much in shock when he puts the needle in my eye, gotta admit, it works....it is just the thought..

Did anyone else witness the attack from the mexican gangs? Is the lake mostly empty or is it used for recreation? What is the scuttlebutt in the area?
Yes, I believe I heard reported on FoxNews last night that there was a witness or two who saw her being chased AND saw one of the pirate boats cross into American water. That was the first we’d heard about that.
The lake is used for recreation, there is at least one national fishing tournament that are held there. There have been 5 incidents of menacing from pirates this year at Falcon according to FoxNews. Usually they surrounded boaters with their 3-4 boats and robbed them, but they weren’t hurt.
I recall that the fishing tournament was up in the air for while, then they decided to just make sure everybody stayed and fished on the American side. I assume it went on as scheduled.
tournament that IS held....
Well, if there was ever a doubt as to how much prayer works, there isn’t one bit now.
Mr HOB called a little bit ago and opened the conversation by asking “ Guess who is sitting up in bed and talking to Buddy?” Yep, Grandmom was asking for her teeth so she could talk easier.
Step-mom was talking yesterday and smiling at everyone according to my father.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you all for your parayers. God bless everyone of you, HOB
Prayers continue. PTL!!
Thank you very much for the corroboration. It brings a little more clarity to this mystery.
AND new food can sometimes cause stomach upsets until they get used to it. We keep the same food here for our grandogs as they get at home.
Thank you lysie. Grandmom ( Ellen) is 95 and step-mom (Doreen) is 83. This Saturday is Doreen and Dad’s anniversary. Last Saturday was my parents anniversary - do you think my father likes the autumn?
It’s been cold here. I want to open the windows, but it’s 69 degrees in the house now. I’d freeze myself out if I opened windows.
Yay! Yippee! That is SUCH good news. PTL!
Great news HOB!
We used to have a German Shepherd who got sick if we changed her food. She did not like it to be changed.
Thanks Jem. Are you following the story about the “art” on display in Colorado depicting Christ in an unseemly act? Can you say I want revenge enough? The artist is a prof from Stamford.
No, not Stamford, Stanford; Wrong side of the country!
Go Grandma!! LOL!
And I’m pleased to hear they are both responding much better. Take care, you guys...
