I’m sure the vegans are having a hissy fit about this.

Whole milk. Whole milk yogurt. Full fat cheese. Butter on my bread, on the rare occasions I eat bread. 2000 IU of Vit D, because I don’t do sun.

It’s easy to maintain my weight on a full fat diet - I know when I’ve had enough to eat, and I can go longer without eating and not get the jitters, depression and headaches of low blood sugar.

Meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, veggies and fruit.

Vitamin D is indeed important. There have been a spate of recent articles about how most of us get far less than we need and of the degenerative diseases we’re prone to for being chronically deficient.

That said, there are plenty of ways to get Vitamin D. The reigning theory is that we became deficient when we moved North and started wearing clothes. If you can handle milk then more power to you, but we weren’t originally designed to drink it past the age of six months or so. And certainly not to drink the milk of other critters.

Why is one of the countries biggest PR firms, Weber Shandwick, putting out a press release about a study on milk. It makes me wonder who paid for the study.

I remember reading John Robbins “Diet for a New America” from the late eighties and getting the vegan opinion.

The veggies say that meat and dairy eating deluge us with low-quality proteins that DEPLETE calcium from our bodies and that on a veggie diet we get plenty without having to specifically load up on calcium.

Robbins pointed out a few of those primitive, turd-world cultures that eat mostly vegetarian diets with no calcium-rich foods who seemingly never have to worry about osteoporosis.

Sorry, but my experience has been the opposite. I have gained the most weight in my life during periods where I was drinking 1-2 glasses of milk with dinner each night.

Those of us with northern European ancestors are more likely to tolerate milk as adults, perhaps because the cloudy chilly climate our ancestors lived in made solar vitamin D less available.

The medical establishment created a phobia about sun exposure. The sun is good for you, as long as you do not bake yourself in search of a tan.

The turd-worlders probably get plenty of sun. Our ancestors made “Vitamin” D (really a hormone) from sunlight, but some of them migrated into regions where sunlight was dim and skin needed to be covered with insulation, so they need to get D from food.

Cod liver oil capsules will give more Vit. D and other things you need than milk.

In England & other areas Cod liver oil capsule were given out free to the public, cold & flu numbers plummeted.

Unfortunately , Big Pharma profits went down accordingly so local officials were appropriately and vehemently chastised.

Ah. And I imagine that number 300 suntan lotion that people slather on themselves from head to toe doesn’t help.
