It’s sorta slow around here today. I’m cooking ribs on the grill and it is slow goin’.

There is activity outside though. The cool snap has motivated the humming birds to pig out. I refilled both feeders, maybe for the last time. Up until two weeks ago there was one very aggressive female who zealously guarded the feeder so I bought another and put it up 20 feet away. She called it hers too. I think she fattened up enough for the trip south and left. There are several now. I can’t tell them apart, mostly female with at least one male. I percieve difference by different behavior at the feeder. There may be a new female claiming it all, but too soon to tell. The lot of them consume about a quart of sugar water every four days.

The chipmunks have been out and about a lot today too. I noticed both sniffing around where I had failed to leave their daily sunflower seed ration. I put some out and they were promptly scarfed up. The have both been back several times, much more than usual, to check to see if I left some more. Curmudgeon that I am, I limit the ration to a small handful a day. Don’t want to spoil them ya know.

All this goes on outside my studio/office and always visible through the expanse of glass walls. It is very cool for labor day. It is also a little on the dry side.

Its good hearing from you, bert! MMMM, those ribs sound delicious. My son had a cookout Saturday night in Piney Flats and then of course, we watched the ballgame!! My other son was invited to his boss's home yesterday for ribs and my son swears they were the best he'd ever eaten. This guy smoked his in a very fancy smoker. (not like the one I used to have.)

My hummingbirds have eaten me out of house and home this year and it was a little worse in August. Mine always fight in August. But they just fight it out and I'm sure they all get what they need. I just keep the sugar water going!

They used to say we should take them down in September and then I read to just leave them up and they would leave when they got ready! Thats what I did last year and yes, they eventually left. Its so much fun to watch them but the fighting bothers me, even though I guess its natural.

I need to get out there and fill up my 3 seed feeders in a few minutes. Have a very Happy Labor Day!

Our children have been taught by Television, movies, revisionist history, the daily twisted news reports, socialist thought, political correctness, and accepting the profane and endorsing evil. We all have ceded ground, bit by bit until we are far from God and His way. MO

I was so convicted of this very thing yesterday!! We have been so lax... yeah I HAVE been so lax in conceding to the world with our children.
Oh yes, we have raised them up in the Church, and Sunday School. Christian Schools, etc...but caved in so many areas.

Amy Dear...many have been the time I have fallen asleep at the sewing machine. Made many a dress and gown for daughters when they were younger.

Photobucket is overwhemed right now!! Ebay has had free listing days and they are about to end tomorrow. I couldn’t get my pictures up at all for my listings. I finally gave up and paid for a month and bingo!! Right up and working.

Oh, thank you, Polly! I’ll bet Mr. Wog’s rose garden is beautiful! (Wish I could grow roses! Between the moles, gophers, deer and javelina - no such luck.)
