Perfect poem, Billie..love it.
How did you know what to feed Lucy?
I have an error that keeps me from getting some Vista updates...The only answer seems to be to wipe the slate clean and start over, reloading Vista...after backing up all your files.
It’s working so I just keep on using it.
I’m still using XP. We got a free upgrade for Vista when we bought this e-machine, but based on what I had read, I decided not to install it.
Linda’s laptop has Vista but she doesn’t use it very much. She has an IT co-worker who came over and got her laptop all set up. He also installed Malewarebytes on this machine. It’s a free program. Took 2 hours to scan it, and it located and dumped over 100 files. Don’t know where they all came from. I usually run Malewarebytes once a month.
Oh, Nan, that is a wonderful idea - but SO much work. A couple of my best friends have a B & B, and I don’t know how they do it. It is extremely wearing on them!
I had saved some flower/garden poems a long time ago, and that was one of them, so when you mentioned an ode to crepe myrtles, I had it on hand. :)
My friend, who gave me the turtle, has several - in fact she is a nature lover and somewhat of an authority on all kinds of little critters. I wouldn't know a girl turtle from a boy turtle, and she said that girls have a flat belly and boys have somewhat of a curved one, and boy turtles usually have red eyes. Anyway, she named her Lucy, and told me what to feed her. I knew they liked cheese - didn't know about apples, and she said a few bits of dry dog food help keep their beaks sharp. They can live off bugs and get enough water from wet grass, but she told me she keeps a shallow pan of water for hers, so I keep a large clay saucer filled with fresh water in the shade for her, as well as the birds who visit. :)
Sometimes I may not see Lucy for a whole day, but the next day she'll come out (from under that ground cover in the picture) when she hears my voice and looks for her food. :)
One of the Geeks at BestBuy said that Windows 7 can be installed over Vista (but not over XP) and it works fine - he said that Windows 7 was designed to replace Vista. That will be my next option if I can keep this one alive until Windows 7 has been out for a while!
Hi, Dave!
Great idea,Yorkie! It was sooooooooo much fun with everyone and the lunch was fabulous!! Thanks for putting it together!
I thought of that opening when I posted Lucy's picture. :)
Thanks, Amy - pots and hanging baskets are just so much easier, for me anyway. We do have curbed beds around the house but they are full of shrubs and ground cover so I keep flowers in pots that I can change and move around.
Don't like gardening and yard work but some things I'll do 'cause hubby has enough to take care of without worrying about flowers. :)
Looking forward to your tales of Carry_Okie’s family visit. Always enjoyed reading his posts.
Thanks, yorkie! Enjoying *your* flowers - bouganvilla, honeysuckle, magnolia.....
I am sure you have been told this, but the newest version of Windows...Windows 7...is supposed to be a VAST improvement over Vista. My friend who knows more about computers than almost anyone has it and says it’s good and much more stable than Vista.
I DO feel your pain. I am really nursing my two laptop computers that has XP. I don’t know why Microsoft had to mess with an almost perfect system! LOL!
Hope you get back to “normal” soon!
What is a terrabyte - how much bigger than a giggabyte? In your product description, is the 1TB the harddrive? What is the 3.0Gb - RAM? Or something else, ‘cause 3 GB Ram isn’t that much. All these figures confuse me - as if you couldn’t tell! LOL
Glad to hear things are going better with your back pain.
I go back to see my surgeon later this month for a 3 month follow-up. Probably take some more x-rays to see if the fusion is fusing. Still taking pain meds occasionally but not near as many as right after surgery. Also not doing anything stupid like lifting and bending.
Honeysuckle is the sweetest smell! we always had it when I was a kid. :)
PC Matic is found at PC Pitstop.
I'm not sure what the "post turtle" was - UNLESS..... the only thing I can think of is when Dutchess was profiling our pets at the Finest, and Giz talked to our resident turtle to get the scoop on Roscoe. :) That turtle's not around anymore. We haven't had Lucy very long. :)
Hey, jaycee! Are your pc problems fixed yet? I hope so! Thank you for the compliment on the hanging baskets, and Lucy, too! She's a cutie. :)
Oh, that is gorgeous! Japanese Gardens are always some of the prettiest ever - always have that pretty little bridge and Japanese Koi swimming under it. :)
