Hi MEG! It’s been awhile. Hope all is well with you.
Ladies, it was a WONDERFUL lunch!
The stories, the jokes, the laughter
Will be kept in my memory bank forever!
I hope you all enjoyed the food!
We MUST do this again, soon!
OK - time for us to go home, now,
and get our much deserved nap!
(((((HUGS to you all!))))
Hi everybody. Later tonight (about 9:00 EDST) I plan to tell you about Carry_Okie’s and Family visit to WV from the great state of Calif. You may not know much about him, but I bet you have seen posts by his daughter, Nattie Shea. She was just a little tike when she first started posting at FR. What beautiful, smart girls she and her sister are. We had such a good time and I am in love with the whole family.
I am enjoying getting some projects done after many months of agonizing backpain...Thanking God for relief.I went to a grandson’s wedding in June and the joy of family out weighed the pain..I saw so many of my husband’s family and ir was wonderful.
My Navy grandson was home on leave with his wife and they were so sweet to be with.It was all a blessing indeed.
Hope all is well with you, too.
If I fall asleep too early..I will enjoy reading all about it tomorrow.I always enjoy “Nan” visit reports.
Awww.. so cute..Being with you all is such a treat..Thanks for being such a great hostess, yorkie.
Well, Thank God for joy that overcomes the pain. He does that for us. Great joy to have your grandson home on leave. Tell him Nan says THANK YOU for serving your country. I pray that your back pain is over and that you will be pain-free from now on.
Hi, Nan! I’m looking forward to reading all about it, as I don’t believe I have ever seen Nattie Shea’s posts! (Is she any relation to George Beverly Shea?)
The only reason I can't get into it now is because I am waiting for my hubby to get home and take me out to dinner before I have a Tea Party meeting at 7:00. Our speaker tonight is John Raese, who is running for Robt. Byrd's seat in a special election. I worked for him when he ran against Rockefeller. Saw and talked to him at noon today at another meeting. He would make us a great Senator, but I really don't see where he stands a chance against Gov.Joe Manchin.
I should be home by 9:00. I have some pictures to share too. Later.
Thank YOU for being such good company, Meg!
It’s chronic..but I injured something new Thanksgiving..and this stopped me cold mamy times..and sitting has been a no no for years.
I asked God to let me get there..even went to the doctor(which I don’t do)...He gave me darvocet which does nothing at all...so what God did was provide helpers..He sent the lifeboat..in the form of family who were so good to help me get there..even carried ice packs to the reception.
It took 6 weeks..but I got better after the wedding by doing nothing..LOL..It is so good to do something again without that agony striking. I rest a lot and work a little..but it is great progress.
You know, yorkie, I’m sitting here thinking (dangerous). If I should become a widow (likely, considering hubby’s bad health), I think I will open a Freeper B & B. Special rates just for Freepers, and only Freepers as guests. I keep wondering what I would do with big ole house. I’m going to think about that some more. I have room for a special private suite and for two rooms sharing a bath. Even if I didn’t make much money, just think of all the great people I would meet.
I can’t imagine, MEG. I’ve know people who have chronic back pain, and they said it is horrible. I only get an occasional lower back ache, but an aspirin or Aleve takes care of that. I had some horrible pain with the knee where I tore the ligament loose, but that’s all healed and back to normal now. For my age, I do really well, thank God.
Nan, it sure keeps me humble! The Lord has blessed me so many ways..I told everyone He got me to the wedding so I wouldn’t ask for another thing...Of course I will.. but that is how grateful I felt...and still do.
I am so glad your knee is healed.. I thank God for you.
Anyway, the last time I had this pc in the shop, they told me it had errors they couldn't fix, so I bought a new one loaded with Vista. I HATED Vista! HATED it! My XP (this one) was working enough for me to get my favorites copied to the Vista machine, but getting online with it wasn't happening.
I tried liking Vista, but that wasn't happening either, and thought I'd try getting XP connected to the internet again - and it worked! That was 3 years ago, and the last time I really used my Vista computer. This one is still only 5 years old, so I haven't wanted to give up on it yet; I'm stubborn enough to keep trying to find the problem I've been having lately.
Anyway, thank you, Meg, for your post and your pretty wildflowers sprinkled among those great trees!
Was so hoping the August thread wasn't too long yet so I could see what's going on with everyone!
Thanks, Amy. I had to lighten the picture a lot because the hanging baskets were in the shade, but that crepe myrtle is so full of color I liked the way it looked from where I was standing. There’s a field of tall native grass just beyond that crepe myrtle - it’s 2 to 3’ tall now and ready to be cut and baled for grass hay whenever the guy can get to it.
I Love Lucy, too! She is so cute to watch, especially when she climbs into that saucer to eat her apples and cheese. :)
How about this crepe myrtle poem:
I have a program called PC Matic that I use when mine does what you describe—it cleans and fixes things and is faster.
I have a $300 emachine from Walmart—got it because it had XP on it during Vista days. It has worked as well as the computers I’ve had that cost 5 times as much. I don’t know how to use everything on this one...bells and whistles are lost on me.
Check PC Matic.
