We didn’t get to name our pets. Their previous owners already had names for them. Grady is a gray tabby. Phoenix is a gray cockatiel with flaming orange cheek spots.
I used to have a cat named Jelly Roll, after Jelly Roll Morton, the ragtime composer. I also used to name my cars, but car names are probably another thread for another day.

I’ve named cars, and bicycles, too. Now that I think of it...my pets have had weirder names than my cars. Hmmmm.

I was thinking of going down to the Humane Society and adopting the furriest dog they had and naming it Jimmie the Blogger. If you do that Jimmie will tattle tell that you are humblegunner and that you are banned or have an "unapproved image" that is fake or some such nonsense.

I named my dog ‘sit’. He eventually went insane when I taught him a few tricks. “Come sit, come sit!”
(I made that up)

When I was very young my dad bought us kids a hamster. My brothers wanted him named “slippery” but I wanted to give him an indian name. We got into an argument that my dad settled by naming it ‘Slippery Indian’. We all thought it was great.

Well, so much for that “Jimmie the Blogger” idea.
You obviously beat me to it.

I had a cat I’d named Mouse. Grey tuxedu, handsome fella.
He up and disappeared one day. I always wondered if it was the humiliation...

Sir Edward von Bearington doesn’t sound so bad compared to that list.
Before y’all freak out, that’s what his papers say...as far as he knows, his name is Teddy.
Our other pooch is Rum Tug Tugger on his papers (our daughter named him...she really likes the musical Cats!)...but he answers to Rummy or Rum-dum.
We adopted our cat from animal control on the afternoon of her last day. Our daughter named her Grizabella (yes, again with the Cats theme), but she answers to “”kitty treats”. We call her Bella...sometimes she will come when we call that name... LOL
I think there are pictures of the furries on my profile page...
To: Cailleach
oh dear, those pics are old...the golden puppy is 3 years old...Teddy’s pic was from when he was 4 months old, and he’s 8 months old now, so it’s not too out of date...Bella looks the same lol
