After several days of 90 degree weather a cold front went through Central New York last night. With it was a much-needed rain. Many plants are smiling this morning.
The new one is full time. She's still working through the process.
I was stationed in the Aleutians back in the seventies.
Alaska is the only state in the union I have never visited. If I don't get too old, I'd like to hunt caribou one day.

MAY GOD BE WITH ALL THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND HIS FREEDOM IN THIS GRAND LAND.
Hey! You better duck! ;-)
Ha!
Better duck is right!
;o)
I lived on Adak in the mid fifties, before Alaska was a state. It’s waaaay out there. Think we really could see Russia from there.
;o)
Actually, our picture looks more fulfilling and sophisticated than yours does.
I’m ready with my story. Y’all know that JT is stationed in Fort Carson, out near 2/3rds. And, y’all know that he is at Benning going through jump school and has just finished his second week there. Y’all may realize that his first anniversary was spent in Iraq. Well, the second anniversary was the fifth of the month and they were apart again because of jump school.
Y’all may also realize that our house is only a few miles away from Benning and so JT comes to our house on the weekends. (Just an aside, we’re haven’t been there. We’ve been traveling.) So, that was the plan this weekend. JT was supposed to come to our house after he finished at Benning. He’ll spend the weekend and return to Benning on Sunday night.
ONLY, his bride’s sister gave her a round-trip ticket to our place. She arrived in the wee-smalls of Friday morning (which is why we’re so tired. We were up late waiting for her before traveling and now we’re coping with losing an hour’s sleep with the time change).
JT knew nothing about this. She’s at the house waiting for him to get off-duty. He comes in. LionsDaughter tells him not to head upstairs but to go into the kitchen. I’m not sure why because I wasn’t there. But I guess they figured he’d want to get some coffee going before putting his stuff away. He growls at LD but eventually complies.
I understand the look on his face was priceless. I was told it was “hilarious.” They taped it for us to see when we get back.
Made you smile.
What a surprise!!
Went bear hunting..left our camp to walk up on a mountain to look for bear, saw none, came back to camp, bear had been in camp and tore everything up..so much for bear hunting...
Popping in to say good afternoon, Toby. We are going to Greg’s cousin’s 60th birthday party in a few minutes. I doubt we will stay too long.
Great story Jem!!!
If you say so...... ;-)
Whatever happened to doctor rahoul? Not sure if that’s how you spell it since a search turned up nothing.
Alaska? What an adventure.
