Late 50’s I was stationed at Eilson AFB, Fairbanks (kinda), cold, snowing the day I got off the plane and the thought hit me, the US Air Force made a grave mistake, sending a boy from Mississippi to this place...loved my stay, in fact stayed a extra year of the assignment.

Went bear hunting..left our camp to walk up on a mountain to look for bear, saw none, came back to camp, bear had been in camp and tore everything up..so much for bear hunting...
