BALTIMORE, - Some residents of Baltimore's Scarlett Place are balking at a plan to test every dog's DNA to find the animal responsible for leaving poop at the upscale condo.

"It's absolutely ridiculous," said attorney Richard Hopp, who has lived in the condominium since 2006 with his dog Sparky. Hopp likened a plan to charge dog owners and guests with dogs $50 each to cover the DNA test and supplies to an episode of "Seinfeld."

Dog owners would also be charged $10 per month to pay for collection of the poop by the building's staff. The resident not cleaning up behind an offending dog would be fined $500.

The Scarlett Place condo board will vote on whether to mandate the doggy DNA testing at a hearing Wednesday, the Baltimore Sun reported.

"Some people think it's funny. But you know, this seems to be a reasonable objective to say, 'This is your poop, you're responsible,'" Steve Frans, a condo board member, told the Sun.

I understand the going after the person that is offending, but put the entire cost of finding him on the line rather then charging everyone. A simple threat that if they are forced to use DNA testing, they will charge the one responsible for the full price, plus a $500 fine for not picking up after your pooch.

Gee where is a respectable dog going to poop? I don't see any green space. A dog has to have some nice grass to poop comfortably!

If only we could apply this same standard to illegal aliens and their enablers and criminals and the judges who turn them loose on the public.

I don't like stepping in dog poop anymore than the other guy, but I would rather do it a hundred times over than encounter a two-legged criminal who should never have been loose on our streets!

These Democrats will be sorely surprise when this socialist eden envisioned by Commander Zero comes into being. They will be evicted or heavily taxed to effective eviction. They vote him. Screw them....they might try to learn a little spanish to say “please don’t hurt me” when they are driven from the socialist paradise.

I’m with these people — testing every dog?? What, no one has eyes, a camera?? It’s an *invisible* dog what’s doing the deed??

If they test some ones dog against the owners will, and it turns out positive, the owners should pay.

If it turns out negative, the authorities should have to eat the poop.

So somewhere there is a pile of dog chit lying around under lock and key that someone picked up and saved so that they could test the DNA of all the dog to find which one did the dirty deed.

I gues the fifth amendment doesnt apply to dogs. Can a dog be forced to crap for these people so it’s DNA ca be tested. How aboutt eh dogs right to Miranda, Anything you say and crap may be used against you.

And these people dont believe this is funny?

"Dog owners would also be charged $10 per month to pay for collection of the poop by the building's staff."

Grammatically this says that they will be collecting poop of the building's staff, too.
