Please pray for FReeper Farmer Dean's wife Beckie. She was diagnosed last week with pneumonia in both lungs. Thankfully she is starting to improve, but she is still ill and needs our prayers.

Pray also for Farmer Dean, he isn't resting or eating well and needs his strength for Beckie.

Update, Good News!

I just got the following FReepmail from Farmer Dean:

I just got back from Columbus,Beckie is stable and they intend to operate tomorrow or Monday. The plan is to implant a clot filter in a major blood vessel. I don’t know which one until a consult with the surgeon tomorrow morning. The good news is that they are confident that they can fix her up. Of course it’s all in God’s hands, but I feel a LOT better about the situation now.

The plan is to implant a clot filter in a major blood vessel. I don’t know which one until a consult with the surgeon tomorrow morning.

Most likely it will be a filter in the Inferior Vena Cava. (IVC)

My wife had one implanted last year. Very minor procedure. Takes less than an hour.

ah, sounds like pulmonary emboli and they are putting in a screen to stop them. It usually helps.

Update, More Good News!

I just got another FReepmail from Farmer Dean:

Beckie is doing better today, they will put the filter screen in tomorrow. Her Doctor at Grant Hospital told me today that if all goes as planned she could be released in 5 to 7 days.

Words fail me when I try to express my gratitude to you and ALL the fine folks at FR.
