All I am questioning are the constant posts wholly consumed by religion in a forum which should be dedicated to political posts. I am religious, but it is weird to me that people feel the need to advocate their religion in the wrong forum. If the people here at “Free Republic,” means spot to debate religion - have at it.

And for the condescending people who think that your post count at FR makes you any less of an advocate, I wont take issue with you, but will question your frame of judgment.

Some of the most advanced political theories on freedom, justice, liberty, and governance may be found in writings from the Puritans based upon religious doctrine prior to the Declaration of Independence.

The relationship between political study and studies in theology have historically been rigorous. Look into the history of all the Ivy League schools, original theological positions of those who settled in the Americas in the 1500-1700s, and degree of their studies. It’s an informative mix.

This is a privately-owned website which includes various forums including Religion, News, Government, and many others. We even post a lot of dopey jokes and pictures.

You can set up your Free Republic personal preferences to ingnore the Religion forum and browse the rest, or browse only political breaking news, or pretty much whatever you want. Go to your account settings and customize it to your pleasure.

Beyond that this website, owned and run by Jim Robinson, can talk about any damn thing Jim wants to talk about. And even though my time here is much shorter than many I can pretty much assure you that nothing is on this site that Jim doesn't allow. It's his site. He sets the rules. You're in his house, sitting in his living room. Think of it that way and you may gain wisdom.

Ignore what you don't like. Or find another website. FReedom is a biggy around here.

I think you make a valid point, but perhaps consider that each of us has a different perspective on what news is. Religious subjects are in the news everyday. I think you would agree that the news about advances in pro life movement is news. News about some in modern times persecuting or alienating people for their religious views. Religion is not a seperate part of our lives knowshon, it is more relevant to our lives than anything else. So, the occasional article/posting on a religious matter is not out of line for news/activism category.

I don’t know. People are interested in their religion. They want to discuss it, and/or how it affects their politics. JIm permits it.

What’s your problem? Just dont’ read them.

Have you contacted the owner of FR and informed him that you've made a decision on what should or should not be posted here? FReepmail works.

Although your post count is minimal, the antagonistic tone of most of them is remarkable. It certainly explains your antipathy to seeing posts on religion.

Check it out

People are free to express their opinions on religion in the political forum, or any other forum.

You can ignore those you don’t like, but you’re not going to make people stop posting where you don’t think that they should, just because you post a vanity and whine about it.

I think it is a misnomer that FR is strictly a political site. It is a CONSERVATIVE site. It is a place for conservatives to gather, talk, discuss, and debate.

There are various areas, vetscor, smokybackroom, chat, news/activism and religion.

For many of us, our conservative values are based upon our religious ideas and so that is an interest for many of us.
