ZOT! Why the constant posts on religion?
None but me

Posted on 02/26/2010 11:53:37 PM PST by knowshon

I have always thought this was a great site to get great political info. I come here for political/journalistic references. If you are going to make your queries 'Religious,' why not go to the religious talking board. I have been slammed here on what people believe is my perceived religion. These were for comments which didnt mention religion, and didnt have religious overtones. I

Another way - If F.R. is your home page, just reset your home page to the U.R.L. of “News/Acitvism.

I did, it works fine.

Exactly right.   I'm a religious conservative, but I don't go into hysterics when people post things I disagree with.

Let's not imitate the leftwing thought police.

I found that odd as well. And also didn’t know how to find out the ‘born on date’.

Hold the cursor over the screenname at the bottom of the post and just wait a few seconds. The date will show up.

One day, I just played around with the cursor and scrolled over everything I could find just to see what it would do. When I got the little hand pointing to something, I clicked on it to see where I’d go. Then I’d backtrack and try something else. I learned a lot that day.

, I find that the inter-denominational backbiting that goes on here quite often is counter-productive to conservative goals. Protestant vs. Catholic vs. Mormon vs. whatever only serves to divide us at a time when we all need to be as united as possible.

You got that right.

There seems to be just a small group of psychotic pinheads that keeps picking at that those scabs. It's a sick obsession with them. Thankfully, most FReepers don't waste much time on it. We have REAL enemies to face.

Matthew 10:28 - Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Some freepers can multi-task.

BTW, how did your date with the LDS missionaries go?

And you assume the pinheads don't face them?

Point me to a pro Muslim poster on FR for a demonstration of this pinhead's ability to multitask...

Maybe you'll learn something....

In the mean time, if you can find time to break yourself away from the Oprah Winfrey world of religion, perhaps you can bird dog me to pro terrorist Muslim posting on FR...

Cowboy Poetry

Jake, the rancher, went one day
 To fix a distant fence.
The wind was cold and gusty
And the clouds rolled gray and dense.

As he pounded the last staples in
 And gathered tools to go,
 The temperature had fallen,
The wind and snow began to blow.

When he finally reached his pickup,
 He felt a heavy heart.
From the sound of that ignition
 He knew it wouldn't start.

So Jake did what most of us
Would do if we had been there.
He humbly bowed his balding head
 And sent aloft a prayer.

As he turned the key for the last time,
 He softly cursed his luck
They found him three days later,
Frozen stiff in that old truck.

Now Jake had been around in life
And done his share of roaming.
But when he saw Heaven, he was shocked -
It looked just like Wyoming !

Of all the saints in Heaven,
His favorite was St. Peter .

So they sat and talked a minute or two,
 Or maybe it was three.
 Nobody was keeping' score --
 In Heaven, time is free.

'I've always heard,' Jake said to Pete ,
 'that God will answer prayer,
But one time I asked for help,
Well, he just plain wasn't there.'

'Does God answer prayers of some,
And ignore the prayers of others?
That don't seem exactly square --
I know all men are brothers.'

 'Or does he randomly reply,
 Without good rhyme or reason?
Maybe, it's the time of day,
 The weather or the season.'

'Now I ain't trying to act smart,
It's just the way I feel.
And I was wondering', could you tell me
 What the heck's the deal?!'

 Peter listened very patiently
 And when Jake was done,
 There were smiles of recognition,
And he said, 'So, you're the one!!'

That day your truck, it wouldn't start,
And you sent your prayer a flying,
You gave us all a real bad time,
 With hundreds of us trying.'

 'A thousand angels rushed,
To check the status of your file,
But you know, Jake , we hadn't heard
From you in quite a long while.'

'And though all prayers are answered,
And God ain't got no quota,
 He didn't recognize your voice,
And started a truck in Minnesota'!

I am really beginning to get a short fuse over ignorance, religious or otherwise.

“Christians” who get out of sorts with defending the name of Christ from a most powerful cult that does more to malign him and his mission than any other faith/cult/sect “christian” or otherwise probably don't mind their dog getting kicked, their kids getting beat up or their mothers being called a harlot.

We were never told to turn the other check to our enemies, only in disputes among ourselves.

Taking up a sword be it an actual blade, pen full of ink or even a keyboard to defend his name is both a duty and an honor.
