TORONTO - There are still no leads in the case of an eastern Ontario scientist who disappeared without a trace last month, leaving his colleagues mystified. Lachlan Cranswick hasn't been seen since Jan. 18, when he left work at the National Research Council's Canadian Neutron Beam Centre in Chalk River, northwest of Ottawa.
His nearby Deep River house was reportedly left unlocked and his car was in the garage. His wallet, keys and passport have all been accounted for......

"The new suspects were identified as: Daniel Marc Schnur, Gabriella Barney, Roy Allan Cannon, Stephen Keith Drake, Mark Sklur and Philip Carr, traveling on British passports; Ivy Brinton, Anna Shuana Clasby and Chester Halvey, on Irish passports; David Bernard LaPierre, Melenie Heard and Eric Rassineux, on French passports, and
Bruce Joshua Daniel, Nicole Sandra Mccabe and Adam Korman on Australian passports."
I wonder if there are any still photographs of any of the new 16 individuals claimed to be implicated????
Me.
So you have questions about Scientology...
Wonder how he knows their systems well enough to comment extensively?
Usually people only know about scientology if they were/are personally involved, or if they've lost a loved one to them.

Bizarre case, we are aware of: Missing Deep River scientist "geek", Aussie born, internationally traveled out of Canada.
Had I know, I'd have purchased stock in manufacturers of tennis rackets.
One thing I noticed that SJackson mentioned in the other messagethread is that these photos are NOT of the suspects, but rather of people who had their identities stolen.
I'm unsure about this, there are so many articles, and yet so little concrete information and no evidence to speak of. I'm positive that I read of one individual named being interviewed and exclaiming, "THAT's not me! I have 20/20 vision, and that chap is wearing eyeglasses." OR something like that.
More the merrier--bait and switch.
There are so many links to different phones of Lachlan posted at the Websleuths.com messagethread, and frankly, his appearance is frequently very different from photo to photo — I was surprised that one individual could have so very many ‘looks.’
Earlier six days after he went missing, Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant scientist N Mahalingam's body was fished out by naval divers from the Kali river late on Saturday night. Forty-seven-year-old Mahalingam, was reported missing by his wife on June 8 when he failed to return from his morning walk, police said.June'09

*12-5-1 ""Israeli biological and nuclear scientists are being knocked off one by one and this covert war is going unnoticed (from List of Missing Scientists).
Cranswick has worked for the NRC's Canadian Neutron Mean Centre for seven years, examining the structure of chemicals.... "His collaborators from universities across Canada praise his effectiveness in supporting their research," said Daniel Banks, a spokesman for the centre. "He was a driving force in developing our scientific tools to the leading edge."
I guess when you think of it the number of missing and murdered persons each year, it becomes astronomical. But when you are a scientist as the above are, a genius to boot in their fields of endeavor, then it becomes extra newsworthy, extra suspicious. Drowning historically of those in the scientific community seems quite prevalent.
Yes, that photo where he looks so relaxed and sociable.... doesn’t look at all like the skinny pasty white balding redhead in glasses. Don’t even look like brothers or cousins, LOL
I fully agree. And it reminds of some other deaths and disappearances of scientists.
I don't know if that is valid -- to find anything peculiar in them being very keen on sports.
Also, I didn't realize that Lacham doesn't have a Ph.d; and I've not seen any mention of a masters degree.
HOW would someone with only a bachelors of science degree ever become a visiting scholar to Columbia University in NYC?
I simply have no idea if such is common, or if it may indicate anything extraordinary.
Would there be a public record anywhere of how much his position at the nuclear plant paid? Would his salary be a matter of public record?
HOWEVER..... both Williams father and his stepfather worked at the same place; evidentally both Russell and Lachlan were interested in bird photography; LC was the VP of the Curling team and on that executive committee is someone related to Russell Williams.
Waaaaaaaay too many coincidences, if you ask me.
Is it possible that Russell Williams came to despise Lachlan, because Lachlan would represent the 'Perfect Son' --- not only in terms of a career in the nuclear industry, but even avid interest in curling.
"Born in the Midlands region of England in 1963, Williams moved to Chalk River, Ont., where his father David Williams, a metallurgist, was hired at Canada's best nuclear research facility......"
I don't have time to research any of the missing persons websites, but a cursory search at google made it seem like lots of states & counties & cities having webpages with missing persons reports, but it seems unlikely that all of them get collated into one spot.
I am very curious to learn of the identities of all persons last seen in the week or ten days before January 18, 2010.
