REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

LCpl Adam D. Peak, USMC, KIA Afghanistan 21FEB2010

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

Eternal Father, Strong to Save

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace!
We who remain hold you in high honor.
Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct;
We who remain keep this place sacred.
Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades;
We who remain keep the watch.
Rest, fallen brother, amid these who heeded the Nation’s call;
We who remain press the fight forward in your name.
Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden;
We who remain have taken up the torch.
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

That works for me. I’ve gotten tired of crazy spellings, anyway.

Well, your post scared me! But I don't seem to have any problems after that email. I did clear my cache and ran a full virus and spyware scan, rebooted and then did a full check/scan of both C & D disks, which takes over an hour, and it reported that my pc is clean.

I wouldn't have clicked on that link if it hadn't been an email from Amazon "support" since I had another mail from Amazon just above that one, regarding my order! Geez. :( I do thank you for your post and additional warning - can't be too careful.

I see some more pings and (hopefully! barring unforeseen computer problems) will be back tomorrow. Have a good night all!

Being Real
In all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses. —2 Corinthians 6:4

An antique dealer thought the wrinkled old baseball card she found might be worth $10. After posting it on eBay, she began to wonder if it might be more valuable than she had thought. She removed the posting and consulted a professional evaluator who confirmed that the photo on the 1869 card showed the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first professional baseball team in the US. The card sold for more than $75,000.

Mike Osegueda’s article in The Fresno Bee said that even though the card was creased and discolored, the most important thing was its authenticity—it was real.

Paul and his companions suffered greatly while spreading the gospel. In 2 Corinthians 6, he listed their outward trials, their inward traits, and their spiritual resources (vv.4-7). Try to imagine the circumstances in which all these things interacted—beatings, patience, prison, kindness, distresses, love. Although broken physically, depleted emotionally, and tested spiritually, the authenticity of their faith in Christ clearly shone through. “As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things” (v.10).

In our walk with Christ, there’s no substitute for spiritual authenticity—being real.

O to be like Thee! O to be like Thee,
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart. —Chisholm

There’s no substitute for being real.

Good Morning Mayor. I had to chuckle when I read today’s devotional. “Lord send me a baseball card to sell”....*wink*

Seriously there is nothing better than authenticity in a person.

Have a great day.

Kitty Mittens, I just loved the photo of King’s Ranch in the Snow!!! Your ranch looks like such a retreat!

On a sad note, we have been dogsitting our son and dil’s dog...Kioki. Pomeranian, 8 months old. Son is putting in new flooring and so grandma has been helping out. Yesterday Kioki got his paw caught in one of the doggie gates that we use here in our kitchen, and broke his leg in two places.
He is in a lot of pain and we are just heartsick.

Pray it heals fast and that there won’t be any long term damage.AND pray for strength for US! We really didn’t need this...at least we didn’t think so. *sigh*

'morning! Thank you for the compliment on yesterday's opening, yorkie. When I look back at many of the openings I've done, it seems I use black and white and grey and a little red a lot! I also wear those colors a lot! :)

Your graphic is so pretty and very interesting. That is a LOT of ice on those berries!

Thanks, Meg, for the nice compliment on yesterday’s opening, and your pretty crocus peeking through the snow. Several years ago on the first day of spring we had a big snowfall, and my red tulips looked so pretty standing tall on that white blanket!
