It annoys me how the judges want Katie to sound “younger”... I’m glad she doesn’t want to be the next Hannah Montana and she wants to do more adult stuff (without being raunchy like Lady Goo-Goo and Rihanna and their ilk) that’ll appeal to a wider audience.

I'm looking at your top six men and women and I agree. That would be my final 12 at this point.
Does anyone know what was wrong with Crystal? She's my fav gon the gal side. I like that small town kid with the nose ring. Where is that voice coming from? She's one of the few spicing up the show because she's so surprising.

I’d like to join in more, but work is jumpin’. Thanx for your work and thank God for TIVO!

Correct...I wrote last week that I can’t wait to hear her do some Joplin...I caught Janis a few times in Greenwich Village in the early 60’s..amazing pipes..and she absolutely commanded the room..small little holes in the wall clubs..real dives/dumps..she’d come out on stage..with a bar stool, and QUART of Southern Comfort..and she’d finish it off by the end of her set...usually 90 minutes to 2 hrs..me, I couldn’t even stand up if I had that much to drink..

Question...IIRC, in ALL previous AI seasons, they would rotate the order in which the judges offered their critiquesa after each performance, but this year, Randy always goes first, and Simon last. Why?..possibly so that Ellen can pick up something from Randy that she can parrot?

Hi Jonny. Sorry I haven’t been on the Idol thread this year. I haven’t been watching the show either. I’ve been busy and involved in some other things totally outside politics. So don’t come to FR much anymore. Just to check the headlines, maybe comment here and there once in awhile.

No kidding. When Seacrest asked her who she liked that was under 20, I could hear her want to scream, "Nobody! All those young kids suck and they're not my type!"
P.S. - Yes, I'm biased toward Katie because she's from the next town over, and my wife is a teacher at her high school.

I noticed that, too. I had never seen the same judge go first every time. Maybe they’re tweeking Randy’s role knowing Simon is leaving...he be da main man now.
I can’t even guess who the audience would have voted for the last two nights. Who knows what the teeny boppers are thinking?

Why?..possibly so that Ellen can pick up something from Randy that she can parrot?Yes. Last week, when Ellen had to go first, she was at a loss for anything to say. Now she can at least say "I agree or disagree with Randy"

Arrgggh. FR’s preview screen is useless.
To: ken5050
You know, I wasn’t really paying attention, but I will keep and eye out for that.

They didn’t start switching the judges around until last season, when they added the (still unnecessary) 4th judge. It’s almost always Randy first, whoever’s in the middle, and Simon last.
