The whale killers ship veered on purpose to hit the smaller boat. I call it attempted human murder by known whale murderers. Just falling into the ice cold water can be a death sentence.

There is no need to hunt whales today. The phony research loophole should be closed.

Your premise is wrong. The Japanese are operating on the high seas legally. If you don't want whales killed get the law changed. After the law is changed them the Japanese are illegal. Interfering with legal commerce on the high seas in PIRACY. The Seas Shepherds are pirates and from what I see on their show the “Captain” is a drunken sod who enjoys the company of admiring young women in servitude aboard his rust bucket.

I'll need more evidence than just the video that the Sea Shepherd folks shot.

There's no way from that video to see the relative speeds, movements or distances between the ships.

From watching Whale Wars it's apparent the SS folk know all about the power of video and are careful to film from certain vantage points, so I'll hold off for now on placing blame on the whalers.

The only good ecoterrorist is a dead ecoterrorist.

You harass, you die. Photoshopped film is not evidence of an alleged event when the narrator is laughing and saying whoa over and over.

The long version of the Japanese video shows the speed boat deliberately surging forward just enough to get it bow rammed.

In fact you can see the water at the rear going from fairly calm to churning as the props (or water jets, I don't know) are turned on to drive it in front of the bow.

See a longer version of the Japanese Video here

You can’t murder Whales. They’re basically big aquatic cows, not human beings. Now that Teddy Kennedy is dead, there’s no excuse for confusing the two.

As for who’s to blame here: the eco-freaks have DROPPED MINES before now. When they’re seen dicking about near the bows of a Japanese whaler the Japs not only have the right to ram them, they should also feel free to blow them out of the water.

Actively killing saboteurs who are trying to sink a ship in lethally cold water would be an act of self-defense. A collision at sea caused by the stupidity and fanaticism of those same saboteurs is even more defensible.

There is no need to hunt whales today.

There is no need to raise and kill animals for food today. We can all eat yeast patties that we can get at the government universal nutritional needs store. That or soylent green.

If the whalers had intentionally rammed the eco terrorists I would be all for giving the whalers a bounty on them. Pirates deserve to die.

There is no need to hunt whales today.

Sure there is. They taste good! It's no different than killing a cow or a squirrel. As long as they hunt responsibly, preserving the overall health of the species, they whould be able to harvest all they can use.

The earth was put here for our use. As long as we take care of it we can kill and eat anything we want.

What did you call it when Paul Watson’s boat rammed
the Canadian Goast Guard ship years ago off Canadian waters?

The protestors have been known to fly skull-and-crossbones flags while harassing whalers. If they were doing so during this incident (not confirmed, but not denied either), I’d say it was a declaration of intent reasonably met.

I call it attempted human murder by known whale murderers.

You know...I get really sick of hypocrisy and ignorance.

First off...whales are animals. They are no more...or no LESS important intellectually than a pig...as pigs are actually pretty smart. So...unless you are a vegan...and don't eat meat. PERIOD...your point is hypocritical. If you are a vegan...and are a vegan because of the reason animals are people too (and not just because you made a health choice)...you are a godless human being...because God gave dominion over animals to man. Whales are animals.

Second....and more to the point. Attempted murder? Are you KIDDING? I watch Whale Wars...matter of fact...my entire immediate family makes a point to DVR it and usually watch it after it airs. The Sea Shepherd Society make their LIVING off of 1) picking a fight and then crying to the press when the whalers defend themselves...and 2) Following Alinky's Rules for Radicals.

They did this last season. They RAMMED a harpoon ship and then called every media outlet that would listen...telling a tale about how they whalers had tried to kill them. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! They do this all the time. They pick a fight...then cry bloody murder when the whalers fight back. they throw glass bottles at them...then scream like heck when the whalers throw stuff back. They represent typical liberalism: My rules and your rules are NOT equal. I will play by My rules...and you must play by a different set of rules. If you violate those rules...I will use the media to hammer you. That's why we watch the show. It's a glaring example of the tactics used by liberals and socialists.

And to top it all off...YOU call it attempted murder? Seriously?

I've got a question for you...and I want you to answer it honestly. Your boat is in the Southern OCEAN...and its heavy seas. Knowing that STEERING and POWER are all important to the preservation of LIFE aboard your ship in heavy seas...especially in very cold waters (because vessels left adrift...powerless...in the Oceans get capsized easily)...what do YOU call it when another vessel INTENTIONALLY tries to foul your props with ropes in the hopes of tangling your propellers and killing your engines thousands of miles away from any help?

What do YOU call that? You see...the Sea Shepherds don't call it attempted murder. Now...they will call a Ship hitting them (when in fact they are ramming them first) attempted murder...but they won't call it attempted murder when they are intentionally trying to kill a vessels engines and then leave that vessel powerless in the Southern Ocean...which would lead to its capsizing...and the death of dozens on board.

What do you call it?

There is no need to hunt whales today.

What there is "no need" to do just doesn't matter. Right or wrong the whalers seem to be operating within the law, however one might feel about it.

The money, time, and energy spent on piracy would be better spent trying to change the law - just as we in the US are engaged against our own Congress and present occupant right now.
