SYDNEY — A space-age powerboat sent to harass Japanese whalers was rammed and sliced in two in its very first clash on Wednesday, activists said, dramatically escalating hostilities in icy Antarctic seas.
The futuristic Ady Gil trimaran, which holds the round-the-world record and was enlisted by militant activists from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society for this whaling season, received "catastrophic damage" and was sinking, they said.
All six crew, who earlier hurled stink bombs at the whalers to disrupt their annual hunt, were rescued unharmed by Sea Shepherd's Bob Barker ship. Activists described the attack as unprovoked and said it was captured on film.
"The Shonan Maru No. 2 suddenly started up and deliberately rammed the Ady Gil ripping eight feet (2.4 metres) of the bow of the vessel completely off," a Sea Shepherd statement said.

This reminds me of an incident betwen Lisa and Bart Simpson. Bart is going to swing his arms around and if it hits anything, its Lisa’s fault. Lisa is going to kick her feet in the air and if it hits anything its Bart’s fault
Only a complete idiot in a small boat could ever get hit by a whaling ship.

They gave the eco freeks a good blast of the fire hose for good measure after the butt kicking. Lol. Must see TV.
I have watched the green"war" (I won't call them peaceful- they are not) show and I think the Japanese have shown remarkable restraint. The greenwar harassers ought to be ashamed of themselves: they waste how many millions, endanger the lives of the Japanese whalers and themselves, and I doubt they even save a whale. They are attention whores who are too cowardly to do something actually useful.
Was the captain of the Ady a Kennedy?
Everything seemed to revolve around putting themselves or their ships in danger to force the whaling crew to change their actions and it ended up being a game of chicken.
Some of it was actually hilarious. They would turn into the path of the whaler and then proclaim "Look out, they're going to ram us!!!", but not without first making sure they had their camera crews filming the 'ramming' by the whaler.
While they have more exposure through the series, I'm not sure that the video documentation of their tactics helps them out on the PR front.

You cannot see the real small letters on the side of that Japanese ship, but it says "...being conducted on the finer points of sending stink-bomb hurling ecoterrorist freaks into the deep, deep drink of Davy Jones' Locker."

The whale killers ship veered on purpose to hit the smaller boat. I call it attempted human murder by known whale murderers. Just falling into the ice cold water can be a death sentence.
There is no need to hunt whales today. The phony research loophole should be closed.
I'm sure this will be on the TV show Whale Wars....which I admit to watching from time to time to see if the whalers give the Sea Shephard a well deserved beat-down.
Being out on the ocean is no time for recklessness, and the Sea Shephard aren't any better then oceanic thugs.

I just watched the youtube video. I think its the Green’s who’s crying crocodile tears here. Whats their mission by being there? You think its to tail thw Whaling boats from a distance? No, their mission is there to disrupt and from the youtube video it looks like their steer towards the Whaling boat and crashed into it head first. It wasn’t split in half. It was just the nose that was badly damaged
