What's even more shocking is that the victims may have been HAPPY to be eaten ...

Here is where stories always lose me.

what really happened there 7,000 years ago was a ritual of tender reverence.

Sure, just like the cattle cars in Germany in the '40s. Just more "noble savages" crap.

I read the article twice. There is no evidence in there the victims were HAPPY to be eaten.

Considering I’m partially descended from the Native American tribe that cannibalism is named after, the safe answer is “yes”.

In survival situations, cannibalism was and is a lot more common that people are willing to discuss.

And were their victims HAPPY to be eaten?

Hmmm, sounds to me like they may have stumbled onto the first prehistoric site discovered with shmoos.

From the middle of the article:

Indeed, experts have speculated that 7,000 years ago, Europe may have been in the grip of dramatic climate change, with widespread famine and social collapse following in its wake.

Of course, they omit to say that if one looks at ice core data, the climate change of 7,000 years ago was the start of a cooling trend after warmth exceeding that at any time since civilization arose.

Yet another thing to blame on or forecast for climate change,
canabilism!

The birds are singing and the forest floor is dappled with sunlight. You can hear the sound of a babbling stream, running into the great river not far off to the east. Sharp ears might hear the drumming of a woodpecker or, high above, the cry of a sparrowhawk.

Sounds like the opening scene from my favorite movie short, Bambi vs Godzilla.

It's a spine-chilling discovery - hundreds of expertly-butchered human bones that suggest cannibalism was rife among early man. What's even more shocking is that the victims may have been HAPPY to be eaten ...

Yeah, I'll bet.

Read *The Peace Child* by Don Richardson some time.

Honestly, this is the sort of thing by archaeologists and evolutionists that makes science look so ridiculous. There is no way to confirm this as fact and teaching it as if it were even possible to be true is way beyond what science can demonstrate. The level of speculation displayed in this article and passed off as science ought to cause an outcry among reputable scientists.
