Looks like it's up $$ 11.60 right now. I was thinking there were some contracts expiring today or something like that.

That can't be right, I was getting smokes out of machines in 1975 for 35 cents. Not that I'm doubting your fathers wise move to save his health and money. Just that your numbers are a little off.

I heard on the radio that you will have to declare that 8 grand somewhere on your taxes -- have you heard of that? The other day I heard on the radio that many Americans didn't realize that, and that they are in a shock that they owe taxes on this tax credit.
I'm unsure of the details, and have no idea if what I heard was accurate... and have NO idea what the taxable rate is on something like that.
To: sten
Wow, thanks!
The rate I was going, who knows when I would have found it. meh

Thank you. I wasn’t thinking of buying that big. More like a couple or three tubes of Silver Eagles.

A monster box of silver? Please explain. gold and silver coins are shipped from the mint in hard plastic tubes... 20 per tube. they are placed in a box, red for gold... green for silver, and sealed with a mint wrap tag. each box has 25 tubes. these boxes are called monster boxes.

My only experience in the market is buying silver from Goldmasters -- online, and I had it shipped to me. (You have to pick it up at the post office.)
If it's platinum you want, they sell that too.

Yes, canned food by the amish is next. Their RV business was crushed, so they will make it up in canned turkey

Thanks. Current cost for monster is~$20/ounce of silver in 1oz. American Eagles in a Monster box. By the time the box arrives, that is about what the cost will be on the market!

No, you are right. I cannot change posts so I just let it go. It was less than a half dollar per pack, but he called it a “half a dollar a day”. I am not positive (I was in fourth grade at the time) but I believe it was because he smoked more than a pack a day and was just putting 50 cents in per day as an approximation.
I AM positive that he paid less than 50 cents a pack.
