Human species 'may split in two'
Humanity may split into two sub-species in 100,000 years' time as predicted by HG Wells, an expert has said. Evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry of the London School of Economics expects a genetic upper class and a dim-witted underclass to emerge.
The human race would peak in the year 3000, he said - before a decline due to dependence on technology.
People would become choosier about their sexual partners, causing humanity to divide into sub-species, he added.
The descendants of the genetic upper class would be tall, slim, healthy, attractive, intelligent, and creative and a far cry from the "underclass" humans who would have evolved into dim-witted, ugly, squat goblin-like creatures.

Watching a NatGeo show on Neanderthal genome project - speculating whether they had a speech gene. It is apparently theorized that Neanderthals had red hair but didn’t speak. It is also speculated they were a different species of primates and did not hybridize with *us*.

I doubt sexual selection will be the only force acting on mankind over the next 1000+ years. Genetic engineering will be provided by the state at no charge in the name of public welfare. One’s choice in partner won’t have much effect on one’s children, at least in genetic terms. Think Gattaca.
When you live in a cloistered hole and don't get out much you come up with silly ideas only the Brits could buy into.
Noting the comparison of group photos taken in the 1920’s showing men, women & children of all races as trim and of medium stature; to the TV shots of the many malignant obese folks (especially the denigrated WalMart shoppers) - it does appear that we are rapidly physically evolving into A HUGE sub-set.
Visiting old historic homes - there is no way the furniture could accommodate average humans.
And the list goes on...
The split will begin when we are seperated in space...different planets, etc.
We already have two subspecies. The freedom lovers and the takers. The takers are all communist. The freedom lovers are all capitalist. Capitalists will win out in the long run.
Maybe the theorists should get out of their offices and visit American cities and the American heartland. The split into two species may already have happened at least in Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, and Chicago.
Now there’s some hard science.
In searching for the article on our allegedly ‘shrinking’ brain, I also came across several articles claiming our brains are getting larger.
I guess that’s why they always call it ‘theory’.
