KIRSTIE (ALLEY) CHECKS INTO FAT FARM
N.E. ^

Sitcom queen Kirste Alley makes like human zeppelin, docks at fat farm for quick fix.

Alarmed as her weight skyrocketed toward 300 pounds, a desperate Kirstie checked into a fat farm and began grueling six-days-a-week workout sessions.

The distraught actress collapsed and broke down in tears when her weight soared to a record 250 pounds, as The ENQUIRER reported in late June. But she was unable to put the brakes on her out-of-control bingeing.

Racing to avert disaster, Kirstie started a new diet and exercise routine, but ended up adding another 15 pounds - and hit the 265-pound mark in mid-September.

She knew she had to get professional help…fast.

"Her breakdown was a blessing in disguise - it was the wake-up call she needed," revealed a source close to the 5-foot-8 actress.

"She realized she had to take drastic measures or she could die."

I saw her in a store in Encino, Ca many years ago - with her husband - she looked good at that time, but I was taken back by how hyper she was - her husband just stood there, she was all over the place and didn’t stop talking the entire time.

I suspected that she’s a true basket case to live with, she’s sort of proved my point, lately.

I have three friends on Paxil and they aren't fat. They watch what they eat and exercise.

I have never slept, all my life. Even as a child I was up after about 4 or 5 hours.

Today, at the age of 46, I am 40 pounds overweight. Why? Because I spent 10 years eating what I want and not working out.

Now I am back to eating to live and working out. Weight is coming off.

People have to stop kidding themselves. A person is overweight because of too many calories and not enough excersise.

I just thought I heard reported that Kirstie ATE a weight watcher while getting into that fat farm.
You know they told her it was a phat farm and she bought it.

I’m not sure about weight loss and cpap machines. I know at least a dozen people who use those and one of them is not a blimp. However, all of them are lazy and eat too much.

Easy for you to say tubby. Oh, sorry.

What you’re saying is true to some extent. Since the body slows down when there’s less food going in, just cutting calories doesn’t work for long. As a bodybuilder friend once said, the more muscle one has, the more calories one burns just sitting around.

Since, well, age 18, scratch that, between age 18 and about age 38 my weight rose perhaps twenty pounds, or a pound a year. I didn’t hit 200 pounds until I was about 35. My eating habits when younger were much worse than they are now, and I stayed close to my graduation weight (190), and the only time I can say I have ever been physically fit was 1985, when I was riding bike every night.

In the past not quite 15 years, I’ve weighed as much as 255, and as little as 209. I’ve had no period since 1985 that I’ve got regular exercise, and have never managed to make any commitments to any diet plans (canned, book, web, doctor, or otherwise), and my weight has gone up and down, irrespective of how often I walk, what season it is, phases of the moon, whatever. Metabolic rates slow with age. And yes, more exercise is called for.

Unless I get a cpap machine, in which case... ;’)

It always amazes me that people will click on the headline of the post, read the post, then criticize the poster for wasting their time. Geez. Thanks for posting this. It’s nice to take a break from the seriousness of politics every once in a while.

Ever hear of OA????

Six years ago I was backpacking down major gorges.

Now I am trying to lose major weight. I miss backpacking. My knees have failed me.

You lost weight, good for you.

I eat less but my knees are killing me, literally.

I am not sitting on my ass.

How old are you? BTW — good for you.

I lost weight when I quit smoking. When I got the urge for a cigarette, I went for a walk

I'll be 46 next month. I was always 20 pounds or so overweight - always. Then the baby years hit and I topped out at a revolting 190 lbs. (not pregnant).

Yeah, I was a fat sloth, no question. I ate too much and didn't exercise at all.

If your knees hurt what about a stationary bike or something where your knees aren't bearing weight?

I don't say this to brag - I say it to give encouragement because there is no one as adverse to exercise and cutting back than me and I did it because I decided to. Once you hit the mental point where you're damn well going to do it, it just happens. Good luck !

Kirstie is so big that when she was at a pool party for “Save The Whales”, all the guests kept trying to roll her back into the pool to save her.

Should have been a big hint she was starting to go up a pound too much IMO.
