KIRSTIE (ALLEY) CHECKS INTO FAT FARM
N.E. ^

Sitcom queen Kirste Alley makes like human zeppelin, docks at fat farm for quick fix.

Alarmed as her weight skyrocketed toward 300 pounds, a desperate Kirstie checked into a fat farm and began grueling six-days-a-week workout sessions.

The distraught actress collapsed and broke down in tears when her weight soared to a record 250 pounds, as The ENQUIRER reported in late June. But she was unable to put the brakes on her out-of-control bingeing.

Racing to avert disaster, Kirstie started a new diet and exercise routine, but ended up adding another 15 pounds - and hit the 265-pound mark in mid-September.

She knew she had to get professional help…fast.

"Her breakdown was a blessing in disguise - it was the wake-up call she needed," revealed a source close to the 5-foot-8 actress.

"She realized she had to take drastic measures or she could die."

Scientology failed her, apparently.

May she find The LORD through her struggles. Will pray for her in Jesus Holy Name. I heard over the TV that she was one of the few of the Hollywood crowd that came out against Roman Polanski. I appreciate her for that.

“Oh dear ... I just clicked through to the article and saw the photograph of Kirstie. The hog thing is perfectly applicable. Wow.”

That is not nice! While I have never had that kind of weight problem, I have a friend who has struggled for years with her weight. It’s not easy especially when people judge them without not knowing the person personally. I feel really sorry for her because she’s in a business that does want everyone to be thin. I wish her the best of luck! I know how hard it is to just lose 10-20 lbs!

"That is not nice!"

For some reason you think that I don't know that? It was not meant to be nice and sweet. 300 lbs. is way past having a struggle with weight. Kirstie does not have a 'hormone' problem, she has a problem with backing away from the table, as her tweets mentioned in the article clearly indicate. If she likes stuffing her face THAT much, me mentioning the hog word isn't gonna bring her world crashing down. I suspect that she knows she's a hog.

I too had a morbidly obese friend. This funny, smart, kind and loving person didn't live to see 40. Don't lecture me on 'knowing the person'. Been there, done that ... got to buy the cemetery flowers.

I know quite a few seriously obese folks. Most really do eat far more than their non obese counterparts. But for some reason, whenever they bring up weight issues, they ALWAYS claim its not caused by eating too much.

The last time someone said this to me, they were eating a pint of ice cream after downing an entire pizza.

Soooo... the biggest problem seems to be that many are in DENIAL. Perhaps the real treatment for obesity isn't a diet program or a fad exercise, but therapy. Its a mind issue.

A dear relative of mine is on Lexapro.

The 30 pound weight gain is quite obvious..but the anti-depressant effect of the Lexapro tells her not to be concerned...NOT LOL!

To pretend that you're a victim to getting fat and it just simply happens to you and you're helpless is pathetic.

that's my first wife 100%. gained 6 sizes from first date to wedding, then 6 more. she never listened to me when i told her to knock off all the supersized fast food meals, and get off her butt and do something. kept telling me it was "genetic"
not hardly. it was the difference in lifestyle. after college she ate twice as much of half as healthy food, and didn't do *anything* active.

“Prayers for Ms. Alley. I hope she can beat back whatever demons she has,
lose the weight and start enjoying life again.”

Same here.
She might be “Hollywood”, but she’s probably someone I could actually
have a conversation with as she grew up in Wichita, KS.
And I spent plenty of weekends there visiting grandparents.

I think the reason’s why she lost her chance of playing Saavik in the Search for Spock was that she’s was addicted to cocaine.

A few years ago, while she was shilling for WW or some other weight loss outfit, I saw her downstairs in an Italian restaurant of the North End of Boston (where all the good Italian restaurants are) and she was making love to a huge bowl of pasta with much other stuff sitting all around her. This is when she was still on their payroll.

Thyroid problems my ass. She was grazing.

too old to play Saavik? She was a doll. She should have quit acting after that and lived on the laurels. Robin Curtis was a disaster as Saavik, a bit hard, if I may say. She made Nimoy’s Spock a veritable Harold Lloyd in comparison.

"She's determined to impress Oprah and save face by making an appearance in the near future after she's lost at least a few pounds."

People who give a flyspeck what Oprah thinks are doomed anyway.

When she sits around the house, she sits *around* the house.
"recent research indicates that there is a connection between how much you weigh and the amount of shut-eye you get per night"
It has to do with the O2... people I've known with sleep apnea, who got diagnosed at a sleep disorders clinic, and wound up with one of those nighttime breathing machines, watched the pounds just drop off, and their daytime (and nighttime) breathing improved as a result.

Her big scene in Woody Allen’s “Deconstructing Harry” is so intercoursing funny I start laughing just thinking about it, and it’s supposed to be a horrifying breakup of a marriage.
