Graphic by Billie
That I could see her one more time
Her gray curls thin and texture fine,
Such beauty in her barely wrinkled face
Such peril in her deep brown eyes.
Her busy feet her old Singer treddled
While nimble fingers guided brightest print,
Day on top of day passing
Whirring, humming, each well spent.
I warmed in front of the old gas stove,
Ornate grates, backed with asbestos
Admiring and staring, staring, admiring
Her delicate fingers, deceptively untiring.
The day she was gone from her housewifes labors,
One little house shoe lay empty behind,
How I wish I could see her, hear her sewing
Just one more time.

Happy Wednesday Thursday, DD.
Thank you for the Welcome Home.
Billie, Meg, Aqua and Jaycee were great hostesses last week.
It was great knowing our place was in good hands.
How are you enjoying your new home?
Still getting settled in?
What is the latest on your surgery?
Have a Terrific Thursday.

Hi Billie.
I had planned to get back yesterday but after a couple of errands, homework and some laundry, I was ready to head to bed. I think I am still in the EST zone. :)

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!
Staff Sgt. Neil B. Allen, USA, KIA Afghanistan 12SEP2009
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
God Of Our Fathers
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Ohhh, Polly, I'm so sorry.
Sending prayers for you, your husband, Kobe and Saudia today.
Losing a loved pet is difficult on all involved.
Hugs to you and your family.

Amy, have you heard anything from Polly today? I sure hated the news she received yesterday.
I have a lot to do today but I’ll try to be here when I can, Amy!

Both beautiful and sad....
My Mom sewed all of her life. She was a great seamstress and she had an old singer. She eventually had it motorized and it was a great machine. Someday I will tell you of the things she made! So the poem touched a sad nerve in me even though I have some beautiful memories from that machine. Billie, Amy and I were talking about “Mama’s” last night!
To: Kitty Mittens
Happy Thursday, Kitty.
I meant to come back last night but DC time caught up with me. :)
Have a Terrific Thursday.

Thanks for understanding, Seadog. That is a great graphic.
You probably already know how to reduce byte size of graphics, but here is the site that I use most often .....
Reduce graphic site
We try to keep the byte size to 100,000 maximum.
