Yoo Hoo .... Surprise!!

I’ve not read all of the threads but have loved all of the graphics, poems and friendship.

Billie .... Today’s Opening is wonderful. Thank you.

Meg .... I loved your Sunday Opening. Thank you.

Yorkie and Jaycee .... thank you for helping out Saturday and Sunday.

LadyJ .... Thank you for being here with all of your fun graphics.

Lori .... Thank you for spending time with us. It is great to see you back where you belong.

Yorkie ... thank you for a wonderful afternoon. It was a pleasure to meet you and to enjoy your fantastic view.

Everyone .... There is no place like Sedona. This was not our first visit to this area but the scenery was as awesome today as it was 10 years ago. We all enjoyed our visit at Yorkie’s. It was a great visit in a lovely location. I don’t think you would ever get tired of those red rocks!

It must be bedtime; I can hardly keep my eyes open. Tomorrow we head for Flagstaff and then will visit the Grand Canyon on Wednesday.

Thank you all for your posts.

Goodnight and sweet dreams.

If I’m allergic to dust bunnies it must be from over exposure.

Just finished writing a chapter in the new book, going to bed now (finally tired).

But for you who come later (as in the dawning!) This to remind you that at the end of this day, you can find time to reflect on it and find a measure of peace.

As Evening Falls

As the sun sets in quiet splendor,
I wait in silence, upon the moor
Listening to the thrush sing sweet,
fading light on the path for my feet

On to hearth and home I go
the way, my heart does know
The quiet of the night so soft,
does memories set drift aloft

Upon the breeze, I hear Faerie tunes
sung in gentle flow, under a silver moon
The heart it skips in time, happy at last
away slips the hard times into the past

I sit by the fire and think of the day
things done and not, the price we pay
another link in the chain of life
a moment’s peace from all the strife

So very happy to hear from you this morning, Amy! Have thought about you and your family many times traveling along and having fun and relaxation. Am so glad you did get to visit Yorkie....she never meets a stranger and I’m sure she must be a delightful hostess!

Keep having fun before you get home and face reality again and get in that hurry, hurry mode that most of us live in each day! Hope you have a lot of pictures to show us when you come home! Happy Traveling to All!

Our Moral Compass
If My people . . . turn from their wicked ways, then I will . . . forgive their sin and heal their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14

When Abraham Lincoln was introduced to author Harriet Beecher Stowe, he reportedly said that she was “the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war.”

Although President Lincoln’s comment wasn’t entirely serious, Stowe’s novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin was instrumental in abolishing slavery in the US. Its graphic depiction of racism and the injustice of slavery helped lead to the start of civil war. Ultimately, Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation declared that all slaves “shall be free.” Thus, Stowe’s novel helped to change a nation’s moral compass.

Centuries earlier, King Solomon was told about what would change the moral compass of God’s people Israel. It was to start with humility and confession. The Lord told Solomon: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).

As a Christian community, we should first take an inventory of our own personal lives. As we humbly seek God in prayer and repentance of sin, changes begin in our lives. God may then use us to change a nation’s moral compass.

Revive us again,
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above. —Mackay

Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong. —Lincoln

Dealing with stress

Excellent advice

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, 'How heavy is this glass of water?' Answers called out ranged from 8oz. To 20oz.

The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.'

'If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.

If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.'

'In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'

He continued, 'And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on.'

'As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. '

'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work/life down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.'

'Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

Life is short. Enjoy!'

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

1 * Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can't push.

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on..

10 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box .

18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

* * * * Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today ! ! !

Be yourself.... Everyone else is already taken!
