Does FR need a ZOT category? (Vanity)

I have a wee tiny suggestion for Free Republic.
Is it at all possible to have a ZOT category, just as for General chat, or smokey back room?
It would be genuinely nice to have a place where the shame of so many trolls could be put on public display!
Thanks Mods!

It always pays to play it safe. Now how about an anti-idiotic shot for Obama?

It would be worth trying ...
I went out to lunch with my prayer group. Now it sounds like we’re about to have a big thunderstorm.
Got a letter from Anoreth. She’s fine and will have off-base liberty this weekend, said she’d call. If we’re out, I’ll leave a message on the machine for her to call DP’s cell.

Wish we'd have a thunderstorm. It's quite warm and humid today.
But at least I made it to the weekend.

We will never have 65K posts again.
Like the Concord, we shall never see this again.

Is it the weekend there? It’s only Thursday here!
I went to Weight Watchers, lost 2.2 lbs. last week. Then I came home and had pizza! However, I didn’t eat *all* that was left.
I was going to use the purple car this afternoon, but it wouldn’t start. Looks like a light was left on when DP put it back in the garage after Bill mowed the lawn last week. We’ll have to push it out into the driveway and have AAA come and jump it.

The 65,000-post thread worked fine. It was the next one that started to louse up FR programming.

The Bride of the Undead Thread is interesting, because posts would appear and disappear, sometimes hours after they were originally posted, so everyone seems to be on drugs or responding to the Voices.

Oh. Well, I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow, instead of spending it working.
Will Anoreth get Fridays off when she gets to Seattle?

strange and Not FunIt could be Fun if you'd had a *lot* of wine ...
What's sad is how many of those posters are no longer with us, either because they got Lives (good) or because they got into a raging snit over something and left FR (bad).

Actually I brought home some work, because some things are easier for me to do from home than from the office. I may or may not get to it, though... *\;-)
Still can't get over that B-17 tour. It's a shame my batteries died before I could shoot everything, but it was a shock to me to see how light the frame was. This was towards the rear of the plane the thing under the yellow tank is where the bottom (waist?) gunner sat. The side-gunner's station is obvious, but those wires running fore-and-aft are the control cables! And the surface outside the ribs is a pretty thin aluminum-alloy skin.

Good picture. Equally impressive is how fast they built them, and how ineffective each one was compared to modern bombers. Imagine flights of hundreds of bombers today - totally unnecessary!

It is sad. Well over 90% of the UT ping list have not been seen on the UT in 2+ years. And every few years I purge the list of those are not still “on” (i.e. banned from) FR.

There is a local air museum that rents a B-17G for parties. But you must leave it on the ground. With special arrangements you can get in several of the planes.
To: Tax-chick
I am just totally impressed with what they did with the technology they had! Simpler planes, yes they could mass-manufacture on a scale unimaginable today. And yes, they're far from B-52 technology (almost as old) where, as somebody put it, "they're all fuel and bombs."
But you look at all the handwork necessary, the huge number of tiny (aluminum?) rivets holding it all together, the lightness of the frame and yet... it was (properly) known as the "Flying Fortress" because these planes kept coming home even in terrible condition -- more so than their more capable successors.
One shock was the radio on the plane. I used to have one at least much like it if not identical, until my mother tossed it in the early 70s along with the steamer trunk full of vacuum tubes.
