Prayer thread for Mrs. Dono (Update in #189 - She's back!)
Little House on Unaka | June 13, 2009 | don-o

Posted on 06/13/2009 12:43:54 PM PDT by don-o

Mrs Don-o wrecked on her bike this morning and has broken bones in both her arms plus a broken left elbow. She will have surgery tomorrow for the elbow.

I left her in good spirits, after she was given some pain medication.

As often happens, we meet angels all along the way - from the folks to stopped at the accident to render assistance and contact me - to the EMT's who transported her - to the wonderful staff at our medical center.

Your prayers and pings are requested.

Hillary Clinton fell yesterday and broke her elbow.

You could tell her, "I feel your pain."

Please explain what comfrey is

I sent an e-mail to a friend on Roan Mt yesterday morning and she's not only got some tincture of comfrey that she bought, she has plants that she's going to give us so we can plant them.

Congratulations on your recovery so far! Sorry I don't have any comfrey, and I can't think how Shasta daisies or gladioli would help ...

Here's a picture of my Bill and a Bishop, though!

Roan Mountain -- Tennessee? Beautiful country up that way.

There must be some low places for the comfrey to grow in there. It isn't really a high elevation plant, likes to keep its feet wet. It also needs very rich, deep soil. So maybe a raised bed isn't the best idea for it. What I would do is get some of that metal lawn edging and drive it into the ground around the plants. Otherwise they will be ALL OVER your garden as soon as you turn your back.

I haven’t been up to Roan for the blooms yet. Want to take a drive up Saturday or Sunday? ... I’ll drive, we can meet up with the lady and get the Comfrey for Mrs Don-o. I can use my new digital camera to get a few pix of the Rhodos, too.

Glad to see your back in the saddle again. Of course you don’t need preaching to not over do it. Save the capitalization for next month.

It's "an" herb.

If you pronounce out loud "a herb" and "an herb" your ears will always tell you which is correct.

You know the "h" in "herb" is silent, I'm sure.

Very nice. We went to a shape not singing this afternoon. Had fun and a friend brought her comfrey (knitbone is known and grown locallly) - a plant and some tincture.
