Ohio leaders fuming over NCR move to Ga.

“NCR makes ATMs,” Ohio Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher said Tuesday. “And to me this is equivalent to going to your ATM and finding out that your bank that you and your family have banked with for 125 years has, without even talking to you, transferred all your funds to another company.”

Dayton is more than welcome to try but you should warn them that we still have the Second and Tenth Amendments here and would give them a “WARM” reception... LOL

Or kicking your best friend in the balls then sleeping with his wife and wondering why he doesn't want to be your friend any longer.

Excellent catch!!! Georgia looks at them as a customer; Ohio sees them as an ATM machine. Funny that was the first analogy that came to mind for the Lt. Governor of Ohio.

Full marks, Andy, full marks.

The sad thing is all these companies are moving to ‘red’ states, but they bring with them a bunch of transplant left wingers that screw things up in their new home. This is why NV, AZ, CO, ID, UT are all getting bluer, but CA stays just as radically left. Not good. We still need some strong conservative leadership in the country from somewhere.

I attended an HOA meeting last night.

When the floor was opened for comments from the homeowners in attendance, a woman who recently moved to Central Florida from New York City expressed dismay at how long it took for the police to respond to a 911 call here as compared to NYC.

I told her that was the difference between living in a Nanny state and a "Shoot and Shovel" state.

That's exactly it, in a nutshell.

This comes only two weeks after the Cleveland Plain Dealer printed an editorial claiming that the whole argument that jobs and business went to low tax states was a fallacy. As long as the libs at the paper keep believing that, the businesses and people will keep leaving the state and the paper will continue its own slide into obscurity.

“I guess too many of us are drunk, obese and preoccupied to care that we have been driven off of a cliff. “

Basically Ohio caught the swine flu from Michigan. Ohio is now in the vortex and the 2010 election cycle will determine whether Ohio becomes the next welfare state.

Too Bad, so sad.

Add to your list North Carolina and South Carolina. The libs and Yankee's spread like kudzu, if you don't burn it out before you know it you're buried.

It is amazing how “shocked” Rhine McLin, Ted Strickland and others are acting at this decision. We lost IAM’s last week, DHL (Wilmington)last year - NCR is one of a series of MANY companies that have left under the watch of these two. This has been in the works for awhile and neither did anything to stop it. The tax structure in Ohio and Dayton specifically makes it virtually impossible for any business to succeed. Ted campaigned on school finance reform and tax reform. So far he has done nothing to address either of these issues. Gary Leitzell can win the Mayor race and John Kasich can take out Strickland in 2010 if they focus on job loss, company loss, and school reform. It should be no contest but then I never thought Ohio would go for Obama either.

No this worthless jacka$$ is the Lt. Governor. He is a political Democrat hack, just like the governor.

The only hope for Ohio is the election of a strong fiscally conservative Republican. John Kasich just announced for the Republican nomination. He is running on a complete elimination of corporate and personal income taxes. We shall see.

The idiot speaking here has no idea that he has inadvertently identified a key problem: they are not a bank and their assets are not “your funds”. I suspect that Ohio having treated NCR as though their earnings belonged to the state is among the reasons they chose to relocate.

You are exactly right. Destroy the tax base with unions, regulations and increased taxes and then whine, moan and complain when that base decides to leave. Of course, soon companies will either not be permitted to relocate from “blue” states, or they will be taxed just as though they had remained.

I love it! More and more these people should be told to change their attitudes or go back where it is appreciated and not considered a virus.

Doesn’t the city of Dayton have some sort of regional planning commission for Montgomery County where if a business relocates to Kettering, Oakwood, Miamisburg, etc the city still gets half of the tax revenue. Didn’t they get sued over it years ago when it was set up and the city won. I don’t blame any business for packing up and leaving.

Bingo. I was going to post similar thoughts. The government views private business as ATMs and private business profits as simply government money that hasn't been taxed yet.

Story: Guy walks up to an ATM and is trying to figure out how to work it. A college student comes up and says, "I can help you." The guy says, "Thanks. I want to make a deposit." The college student says, "Oh, I've never done that."

Drats!! Another big company moving to my homestate....who’s next? We have good folks, good government, and lots of space with low taxes to boot. I hope Ohio and Michigan never learn and stay that way for a long time because we need the cash down here for fishing poles and boats and stuff.
