It was very warm...96...but lovely. I guess it’s summer
in West Texas!

We ALL know what that last one is up to! Don't take no ed-ja-cation to know that! :(

He will do (and HAS done) everything in his power to destroy what our forefathers worked so hard to give us.

The temps should start cooling off tomorrow. Suppose to be 20 degrees cooler by the weekend.

These past three days have reminded us what to expect in June. July and August will be 100+.

The ocean, MA beaches and Cape Cod are part of what keeps me from leaving.

Its been raining on & off for days here on the Jersey shore. I do like the fog we had last night before the storm hit again. When I finally get down to the beach maybe there will be lots of sea glass.

Do you display your sea glass collection?

When we were in college four of us in eastern MA jumped in a car to find out how far we felt like driving that night.

We got to Asbury Park Beach and just in our day clothes and pretty pooped we slept the night on the sand to be awakened in the morning by excited surfers.

We decided to go to the top of the Empire State Building but it was closed so we went to the basement. Then we drove home.

Yes I do. I’ve been collecting for about 45 yrs since I was a child. I have it in lamps, in jars, baskets, on shelves & anywhere else I can think of. I used to find lots of it but not so much lately. I used to find big pieces too but no more. If I find a blue piece I get really happy. During bad times in my life I would go to the beach & talk with God. It always seemed at the lowest times I found the most blue glass. Strange huh?

Good evening, FRiend.
It is 7:25 on the left coast and the temp has cooled down to 95 degrees.
Mid 30's sounds good right now. :^ )
Not really, our tomato plants would probably freeze and
we would have to start over.

It is always good to see you.
Have a lovely evening.

Good evening, Pandora. I googled sea glass to see what it looks like. It is beautiful.

I don’t blame you for getting excited over certain pieces.

Hope you’ve had a Wonderful Wednesday.

Stop by again soon and often.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” [2 Corinthians 5:8]

My Gram died at almost 101, she had all her scruples but lost most of her body functions. Wonderful woman. I spoke at her Service to a hundred people or so and wanted to let them all know that Jesus is Lord and I would not let anyone else I know die without knowing that.

My brother in law died a year later, he was there in the seats that day. I am sure Rich knew Jesus as his Savior.

LJ, this morning, when I woke up, and trudged my way to the kitchen - spilled my coffee everywhere, including the open silverware drawer, burnt my toast, opened the 'fridge, and a large jar of strawberry preserves came crashing to the floor, spreading jam and broken glass for a mile - I just knew it was not going to be a 'good' day.

But, everything changed, when I read your post, and milk came out my nose!

Wow, Freepers really do know the answer to almost any question! Thanks for the scripture location!

I call my grama, “Gram” too.

101 is awesome. I am amazed my Gram is 91. How blessed we are to still have her. I wish I’d have the confidence to speak at her memorial service someday. Maybe I will. I have a fear of public speaking to large groups ever since I was in school. It petrifies me.

Her son, my uncle, died young of cancer, 54, and my sister had the guts to get up and give a lovely remembrance of our uncle. That was Feb. 2007.

Last Dec. her daughter, my aunt, died unexpectedly in her sleep, age 63. 2 of her children, in their grief, still stood up and gave wonderful eulogies.

I don’t know how Gram’s little old heart takes all these losses. 10 years ago her husband, my Grampa, died, at a ripe old age, but still a lingering painful heart failure death. That was hard on Gram.

No one ever would have thought that a few years later, 2 of Grampa’s children would follow him to Heaven.

I have learned to be ready everyday to be called Home.

At my aunt’s memorial, I sat next to a Christian woman, who said to me, how different it is to be at a service where most or all there are saved Christians. She said how there is a calm there, rather than loud wailing or the sobbing of those who do not know the peace that comes with being saved by Christ. Tears are shed, but there is not hopelessness. There is missing of the departed, but also the knowing that they are with The Lord, where they wanted to be someday anyway, even if it is an untimely early death.

7 years ago another of my uncles, died getting ready for work one Monday, just took a funny breath and was gone. He was 63. He had a physical the Friday before, and died sitting on the couch before going to work on a Monday.

Hard lessons learned that we are called home when God wants us. All these wonderful relatives, taken too early for me, but at just the right moment for God.

Have a peaceful night!
