Welcome To The Hiney Winery

The Hiney Winery was established in 1979 by Uncle Harry Hiney. He had the idea of putting his Hiney in a flip top disposable can. Family friends convinced him that his Hiney was too good to keep to himself so they bought the warehouse behind the library and the rest is history. Since that time people all over the area have been enjoying Hiney Wine.

The tradition is being kept alive by Harry’s two nephews, Big Red and Thor, who refuse to put their name on their Hiney until its perfect. That way you know that anytime you wrap your hands around an ice cold Hiney, it’s going to be the best Hiney you’ve ever had. The entire family is proud of their Hiney. Big Red, Thor, Ophelia, Humphrey, Selma, Ima, Rosey, Anita, Seymore, Lucie and Thor’s wife, Oma Aiken-Hiney are just a few of the Hineys that are part of the crack inspection team that checks every can for quality. Quality assurance and customer care ensures you that you are getting the best Hiney money can buy.

Next time you go shopping, ask your grocer where he keeps his Hiney. The motto of the HINEY WINERY says it all, “You only go around once in life, so grab for all the Hiney you can get”. hiney wine

This was done as a comedy sketch on Rock 103 Memphis back about 20 years ago. Tim Spencer and Bad Dog placed the winery in beautiful downtown Iuka, Mississippi, and did bits on it for a week or two. They had people calling for the address and phone number of the place before it finally dawned on them that they'd been had. It was funnier on the radio, but you can get the jist of it here. Enjoy.

This reminds me of the other funny drink: Dickin’s Cider.

If there’s one thing my gal likes every night, it’s a Dickin’s Cider.

I remember an AM station in KC playing this in the early 80's.

The Hiney wine can with ice hole, so you can put ice and fruit in your Hiney.

Funny stuff.

Many years ago the Hiney Winery was right behind the Knickerbocker Liquor Locker in Hickson, ND.

I still have the t-shirt.

Their ads brought our office in Michigan to a standstill every day! I have a bottle of the wine on top of my spare fridge, along with cans of Griesidieck and Mad Frog Beers.

And all along I thought this was just a Memphis thing. The DJ’s there are always griping about others stealing their material. Looks like they lifted this one from someone else - and a lot of others did, too.

I don't think anyone lifted this bit; I thought it was Hiney's real commercial.

Mr. uvular and I worked in the same office at the time (mid-80's)and we still bring it up from time to time, of how we giggled like hyenas listening to each new family name that was revealed-lol!

Each new name made me laugh, but Thor and Big Red were always my favorites.

A local station (FM99) played it here in the Norfolk, VA area back in the 80’s. They set the headquarters for the Hiney Winery in Chesapeake, VA on (it really exists) Butts Station Road.

“Just making it a easier for you to get a little Hiney.”

I only buy hiney in a wooden cask. That way I can tell my wife to grab my hammer and meet me in the celler when I’m ready to tap that hiney.

The Hiney wine can with ice hole, so you can put ice and fruit in your Hiney.

They increased the size of the hole so you can get more ice in your Hiney.

So look for the Hiney with the bigger icehole!

Hiney Wine's good, but it just doesn't compare to Cider from Dicken's Fruit Stand.
