.
Ryan looks different tonight.
He sings Don Henley's "All She Wants To Do Is Dance."
Yuck. It sounds little like the original. The recognizable guitar has been replaced with saxaphones and trumpets.
Taking a page from the Matt Giraud playbook, Kris performs in the audience, playing guitar, surrounded by the ever-present Ashley Ferls.
Song stinks.
Kara: I'm a huge, huge Kris Allen fan. Kinda felt like jazz/funk homework. Lost a lot of it's youth. You're really a good singer. Still a fan, though.
Paula: You took one of the most melodically same-note songs and changed it up. ONe of the most likeable contestants we've ever had.
Simon: Likeable yes. But it was indulgent, boring, forgettable. You came over as a guitarist who wanted to sing instead of a singer. Stupid, stupid song choice.
Randy: When something is already great, you didn't need to change the arrangement. You were lost in all the horns.
Yeah, I have to agree with the judges on Kris’ performance...he’s got lots of fans so hopefully he will be safe this week.
Talk about indulgent! Lil singing Tina Turner.
I looked it up really quick and it’s 1984.
Goodness, I’ve never heard of the song or performer on my birthday!!!
Lil, “not her stage name”, is doing an ok job.
NO..LIL is trying to copy Tina Turner’s moves...JUST NO
This is like bad karaoke but I’ll bet judges love it. They’re so transparent!
Lil s teacher said she could see her name in lights? Head lights? Flood lights? “Where were you on the night of the fifth” lights?
Lil is just not that great, imo.
Points scored for the killer shoes, though.
:)
Yeah, and the beginning was really shaky...but when she got to the chorus it was much better. No one can compare to Tina though.
G’evening, Jonny. Is that you as a baby? What a doll. :)
Screaming, you mean? She was not good at all. She was off the whole song.
TO me, lil gives awhole new meaning to mediocre.........she is the Affirmative Action chick
She’s screaming out the ending. It’s almost painful!
Wow - I have family at his church who said the opposite (about Scott) - that he was really very nice.
Scott was the smiliest and just seemed to be enjoying everything the entire taping, not nearly as sour or serious or entitled (or, in some cases, all of the above) as several of the other contestants, at least at the Motown week.
Interesting...
The Kris thing I totally believe, though. The other contestants gravitate to him and he to them. He sort of seemed a bit like Tigger (bouncy, upbeat, etc.)
Probably the lights down at the Shelby county jail.
Not good!
