Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

You think it is appropriate to picket at a funeral?

I don’t think anything will come of an investigation into the Travoltas.. if it even gets that far.

They hurried up and got the verdict..SEIZURE (contrary to the timeframe outlined by Wecht)..and cremated the body.

What happened to the story about him hitting his head.

POOF it disappeared...as if it never happened...and perhaps it didn’t.

I am so sorry about your son's problems. You sound like a very compassionate parent.

Have you looked into a ketogenic diet? I know of no one who has had firsthand experience with it but according to what I've read and heard, it can be very effective.

Part of the Scientology contract:

I do not believe in or subscribe to psychiatric labels for individuals. It is my strongly held religious belief that all mental problems are spiritual in nature and that there is no such thing as a mentally incompetent person— only those suffering from spiritual upset of one kind or another dramatized by an individual.

If circumstances should ever arise in which government, medical or psychiatric officials or personnel or family members or friends attempt to compel or coerce or commit me for psychiatric evaluation, treatment or hospitalization, I fully desire and expect that the Church or Scientologists will intercede on my behalf to oppose such efforts and/or extricate me from that predicament so my spiritual needs may be addressed in accordance with the tenets of the Scientology religion.

Absolutely not. That's not what I meant and if I misunderstood, I'm sorry.

I'm saying I am highly skeptical of these drugs under almost all circumstances.

I have seen firsthand the harm they do. I admit a bias and it is possible on an extreme case, I could reconsider a bit but by and large I have only disdain and am very hostile against those prescribing these dangerous drugs.

It is always wise to try a natural therapy first and yet, most doctors don't even consider it. They reach for their prescription pads without considering long term consequences.

Lisa Marie Presley
Now Is Not The Time.

I wished I could be writing you under happier circumstances but I cannot because Two of my very good friends, (John and Kelly Travolta ) the sweetest people in the world have just encountered the worst possible tragedy a parent could be forced to endure, the death of their son Jett.

My heart is crying and bleeding for them.

I personally would not have it in me to bury my own child.

I am writing this because I have noticed that for the most part, people and the media have been very sympathetic and respectful, but there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?

Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologist’s in the recent past , Now is NOT the time.

I realize that there is a lot of mis information out there about the subject which has caused a lot of stone throwing but we are not still in the dark ages and it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation.

Among most of the crazy made up garbage that goes around about it , It is not true that Scientologist’s “Don’t believe in “ medical care , medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy.

Just like anyone else, If one is sick , they go to the doctor, If a medication will make it better then they take it.

If they don’t then they are an idiot and you can’t blame their religion.

Whatever medical and or physical condition Jett had , I can tell you first hand that his parents were on a tireless, never ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need, Medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually.

I am not writing this to preach my beliefs, I am here to protect my friends.

To the few of you out there that this may apply to,

Let’s not use the tragic death of a child to facilitate your insatiable need to attack and destroy Scientology shall we?

John and Kelly have done nothing but spend their lives and their time helping others, making people happy and making peoples lives better.

Please let this family grieve in peace.

~LMP

PS, I am so sorry it has been such a long time since I have written.

I have just been soaking up the love and the happiness that these two little babies have brought us.

More on that soon.......:)

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes.

I love and miss you very much.

I’ll be in touch.

~L

Here is an example of the Dangers of Scientology..and frankly, those here that believe Parents should do whatever they want.

An OT8..with special magical powers...has a son that is a parnoid schizophrenic. He is not given medication. He is detoxed and audited and e-metered,etc.

He goes out and kills himself or someone else because the parents didn’t believe in treating him with medication.

Just one example of the danger in saying that parents should be allowed to do whatever they want with their child.

Would the victim, and his family, be able to sue the OT8 and Scientology?

My son has autism and seizures. His seizures started out as febrile seizures when he was two — brought on by dehydration from a cold virus and high fever. He now has a seizure disorder for which he has to take medication twice a day. He also has an emergency drug which must be administered if his seizures last longer than 6 minutes (I have to call 911 after I administer the drug as the drug itself can kill him). His pedi neuro was quite clear that his seizures are extremely dangerous and could very well cause his death if untreated.

I can’t imagine a mother whose son had such a significant seizure disorder ignoring those grave findings.

My heart goes out to this family. We have no idea what happened or what type of treatment he was receiving. Breakthrough seizures happen all the time. Jett could have suffered one which ended his life.

I think we should just let them grieve in peace.

Yes, there are those that believe in an holistic approach. As my mother died of lung cancer , she came across a wacky approach, that was debunked by the FDA etc. It involved lights and diet and the person who was doing it wasn’t charging very much. We ended up buying the light from the manufacturer that was like $7500 instead of going to her home to use hers. There were people there that claimed it was helping them.

She was willing to try it but she couldn’t do the herb regime..and so therefore it didnt work for her.

Would it for someone else?
maybe.

Or maybe it was quackery...more likely it was quackery by the orignator of this deal....with those out there willing to take advantage of the sick who are willing to try anything...but money was not an issue so we tried it.

I kept trying to get her to do the herb regime..pleading with her to at least try...but she didnt want to do it because she couldnt stand the taste.
HOWEVER, she is an adult. This was her decision to make.

That is a far cry from dealing with a disabled child who has grand mal seizures every four days. If you put him through detox and auditing and he is still having problems..you might want to try something else to save his life.
..instead of just letting nature take its course until he died.

I don’t believe Lisa Marie for one second. Surely she and her mother and Danny Keogh had to sign the scientology contract.

And I am sure she knows that the Founder of their cult has said and believed and taught that Dianetics is the ONLY thing that cures the reactive mind.

I think what a lot of people don’t get.. are the huge numbers of completely irresponsible and incapable parents..

barely functionally retarded people with kids..

barely functioning mentally ill people with kids...

barely functioning people caught up in cults with kids..

an arrogant parent who think they know better than doctors..

conspiracy nut parents who think doctors are evil..

the list could go on..

if the government did not step into to protect these children.. the damage would be horrendous...

A memorial service for Jett will be held Thursday for family and close friends in Ocala, his publicist said.

The Travoltas, who have been together since 1991, bought their unusual $8 million property in Ocala in 2003. The reason had nothing to do with the area’s famed thoroughbred horse farms: Travolta, an avid pilot, was looking for a home where he could fly his many planes, including a Boeing 707 airliner, right to his front door.

The estate, located in a subdivision that boasts the largest private residential runway in the country, was featured on the cover of Architectural Digest in 2004. The style was inspired by Morris Lapidus, the architect of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright and Eero Saarinen, designer of Washington Dulles International Airport.

“If I can look out the bedroom and see the planes, I am happy,” Travolta told The Associated Press last year.

His eldest son, Jett, and daughter, Ella, played happily around the mid-century compound.

“We’ve got a big pool, a slide and a golf course,” Preston told Architectural Digest. “We’re a family who likes to play a lot.”

And although that family traveled often for work — Travolta’s latest movie, “Bolt,” in which he does the voice for an animated dog, was just released — they also spent time in Ocala and the even smaller village of Anthony, which is right down the street from their home.

“I love rubbing elbows with life and real people,” Travolta, 54, once told the local newspaper, the Star-Banner. “I don’t like living in ivory towers. I want to enjoy life the way everybody else does.”

“He’s just, I don’t know, a normal person,” said Barbara Pound, a waitress at the Saddle Rack Cafe. She served him his favorite breakfast — a $6.49 western omelet — on a handful of occasions. “Nobody bothers him here. We let him have his peace.”

Travolta once brought his son into the cafe and the boy “wouldn’t stop smiling,” said manager Jackie Gomillion.

Others have spotted Travolta and his family cruising around in his classic Thunderbird or just shopping at the Gap in the local mall. Twice, Travolta hosted charity fundraisers around movie premieres at the local movie theater in Ocala where thousands of local fans showed up.

Brent Johnson of Ocala once saw him at the gym at 5:30 a.m.

“I thought to myself, I’m not going to harass him, but he came up to me and said, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’” Johnson said. “He asked about my kids and family. I think there’s a sense of pride here in Ocala that someone like that would want to live here.”

But Elvis did have extensive exposure to the organization and concluded, “These [Scientologists] want to control your mind, I think, so I’d never be interested in anything like that,” according to the book “Child Bride: The Untold Story of Priscilla Beaulieu Presley” by Suzanne Finstad. The King is also quoted to have said, “They’re just after my money and my name.”

According to former Elvis crony Lamar Fike, Elvis stopped dating “Mod Squad” star Peggy Lipton because she kept trying to get him to join the church. “One day, in L.A., we got in the limousine and went down to the Scientology center on Sunset, and Elvis went in and talked to them,” Fike said in “Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations from the Memphis Mafia,” one of several sources who say that Presley didn’t like Scientology. “We waited in the car, but apparently they started doing all these charts and crap for him. Elvis came out and said, ‘F - - - those people! There’s no way I’ll ever get involved with that son-of-a-bitchin’ group. All they want is my money.’ . . . He stayed away from Scientology like it was a cobra. He’d s - - t a brick to see how far Lisa Marie’s gotten into it.”

The law is immaterial. What is important is the parents decisions..even if it results in the death of a disabled child.

I couldnt disagree more and thank god we have some semblance of law,

The laws have been changed only in the past thirty years or so. Nanny staters want to control how people live and believe.

and parents making that choice for a child.. there are too many idiotic parents out there to allow them the possibility to medically neglect their children...

I understand your concern. I have resolved it. We get the parents we get and if my parents beliefs get in the way of me getting transfusions or whatever, so be it. I will go to heaven anyway.

Thanks to your view that a parent should be able to do whatever he wants to do...A Scientologist parent locked up a boys PSYCHIATRIC MEDICINE ..and the boy ended up dead.

Now a mother lives the nightmare.

And I can’t help but wonder if Travolta did the same thing as this boys father...call Scientology before the paramedics. There sure is something off about their timeline..and add to that the flight pattern for his jet that day..it makes me wonder .....

Outlawjake, I want to to understand that I have resolved this for myself, Other people make other decisions.

I am aware that there is sin and horrible situaions in this world. I am not under the impression that this partiuclar child lived in a horrible world. I am under the impression that the VPA did not work very well and they were not giving it to him.

My children have a tremendouly truncated vaccine schedule per my request and decisions. Why wouldnt people take my cihld away becasue I am not giving them the commonly agreed upon and understood schedule that has been agreed upon by top medical authorities. My kids could die for the lack of some of the vaccines. Their lives could be severly limited by lack of vaccines. I made a decision that millions dont make, because of my deeply held beliefs. People do what they see as best and in the case of some people it involves more than one lifetime.
