Help I have a Border Collie / mix Dog He is 1 1/2 yrs old, he is a very smart dog, The other night I had to go looking for him and found him on a deer.... still alive! He has a sisiter that is 6 months old and is a Black Lab /mix. she to was with him shortly getting in on the action. I pulled him off. and scolded him allthe way home, this moring I let them out and went in to bake a cake, 30 min. i called them to come in and no one came. I put on my jacket and when out to look for them. Just as I started up the 4 wheeler they both came running around the shop and both are cover in blood. I called to the boder collie and asked him to show me what he caught and he took me to the dead deer. Is this something I shuld be worried about? How do I stop this from ever happening again, some one help! There must be a way I do not want to have to put him down. thank you
I could never see a border collie doing it.
they are slow docile creatures /s

Go to the store and buy cheap pot pies and feed the dog as much of those as it wants. Give it peanut butter for snacks any time it wants.
Pretty soon your dog will be too fat to catch a tortoise.
You guys are cracking me up
I had a dobe that could take rabbits
He stalks the birds, but hasn’t caught any that I know about.
I can’t imagine myself on a hunt, let alone the dog,so I guess he’ll have to be content with the rodents he can find in the yard. I just wish he wouldn’t bring them into the living room to ‘share’.
I believe one FReeper already correctly solved your dilemma: The dog likely found an injured deer and instinctively began to eat it. I hope you find the following information useful.
Border Collie Temperament
Highly intelligent and trainable, the Border Collie is a very agile dog with plenty of stamina and determination. This is a dog that is eager to please and very quick to learn, which makes him a pleasure to train. He is one of the most trainable of all breeds. This is a well balanced dog with a good temperament and a good nature. The Border Collie is loyal and dedicated, and is both faithful and affectionate to his family. However, despite all of these traits, the Border Collie is not a dog that will be suited to all owners, as he needs a high level of mental and physical stimulation (running, biking, fetching, walking) and will not fare well without this.
The Border Collie may get on okay with older, more considerate children, but is probably not the best choice for those looking for a companion for their child or for those with smaller children. These dogs can be wary around strangers, but can get on okay with other pets. However, their strong herding instincts means that they may try and herd everything, from children and family members to pets and just about anything else. In some cases, the high energy levels of the Border Collie can make it a little hyperactive, but with the right level of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation this is a problem that can be relieved.

Think of the puppies those two could have!
Goofy beagles!
Dog was ticked because the dumb deer wouldn’t herd.
Shot him over getting dissed.
In my state you would be breaking the law and fined. You may have to keep him restrained.
BLARG Blarg *honk* BLARG!
I know some guys who I served with in the Navy that ran across an unmarked graveyard in the woods of SC after a heavy rain.
They were taking a short cut through the woods from the “Radar club”
Well they found this skull see.. and they put it on a stick.
The “woogadawoogada stick”
Well, I wont tell the whole story, The OIC and local authoritys were not amused.
Don't let your dogs start chasing deer.
LOL!
just needed a little protein.
