Good evening. As Arctic temps and snow grip much of the country, I pray for all those who travel and have to spend time outside.
Also remember the many affected by the economic woes this season...anecdotal stories we're all hearing bring the statistics to life, and add a somber theme to the time which is usually so joyful.
I’ve checked my email and can relate a few more details about the incident at JT’s base.
It seems there was a lone male dressed in long flowing robes who came up to the gate where JT was. He would not stop when challenged and he was carrying something that was obviously packed with heavy items.
He was saying something about this was his last stop in the area - obviously - and after JT shot him, the guy was still uttering threats saying, “just wait ‘til next year!” As he was taken off to the hospital he is reported to have grunted, “OH, OH, OH!”
The intruder is in stable condition and will be taken to a remote location and interrogated.
Thanks for the update. God Bless JT. Our hero soldier.
You are an early bird JP, up and moving around before the birds. Good Morning.
Ah something simple and for breakfast. Thank you lysie.
Hmmm, so the Vicks helped. Hopefully the Excedrin clears your head. Take care, FRiend.
That is ok, it is very quite here.
JP
Thank you Jem, for updating JT’s experience. The guy sounds like he was on a mission or is a kook..both dangerous.
It sounds like you are working the night shift.?
The kids made out like Jesse James yesterday, Santa sure smiled on them and D as well, Santa bought her a new portable computer and me? smiles all over my face so I must have been a good boy all year.
Now, I suspect it is going to take at least 2 weeks eating leftovers to get rid of all we have left (been so advised by D) but I ‘spect’ I can manage that.
To all a happy ‘rest of the year’.

Hi, there! I’ve decided to pass on everything today, I think. It didn’t take long at all to reach that state. I don’t think I fully recovered from the feast at Thanksgiving. I’m going to have to do something different next year. Trouble is, our round of gaiety hasn’t ended yet. We have way too many birthdays coming up. Hubby, my dad’s and then mine. If you through in the holidays and bowl games, sheesh!
I’m glad your Christmas was merry.
JP
Yup. You kilt it down dead.
Plus, I have a cold/sinus illness like you and IG. I have had the dang thing for at least one week. It's not getting worse, but not any better.
Oh dear lysie, you, Jem and Granny better take care of yourselves. PLEASE! Don’t want you feeling poorly in 2009.
I’m sitting in my new Dallas Cowboys office chair. I got it yesterday. This is the first chair, when it is at the lowest setting, my feet touch the floor while my back is resting on the back of the chair. Of course when I type, the chair is at it’s highest, so my feet swing in the air. I love it. It even has the Dallas Cowboys logo on the back of the chair. Roomey has taken my old chair.
I know what you mean about the logey feeling from all those carbs...I’m going back on my low carb eating habits. Lots of fish and seafood and salads these next few days, while my ole bod gets back into the swing.
Well, my resolution is not very high. My stomach is a bit upset so I ate some crackers to settle it. I’m NOT getting into any of the desserts.
Do you have a stale cola around? They say if you sip a stale cola, it helps an upset stomach. I give it to my men when they had upset stomachs and it seemed to help them, but it has to be sipped, slowly. Crackers are always good for that problem too. I’d combine the 2 procedures, slowly with both.
Hubby is at the store right now getting some. I’ll sip it hot, slowly, and leave one open getting flat.
You are spot-on with your recommendations and I will follow them to the letter.
(((till)))
Hello. I’ve been out all morning. I’m going to rest a bit before I go out to deal with the ice/slush/show on the driveway.
It’s 42 degrees, and today is the day to get that mess under control.
You are such a sweet heart. Hopefully your stomach ache stops.
I thought you weren’t feeling well with a cough and a sinus malfunctioning. Why are you going outside and prolonging your 2 conditions? The slush, snow etc will be there when you’re feeling better.
